Half an hour

As of right now, there’s only half an hour before National Novel Writing Month starts. I’ve spent the better part of the evening working on my notes for Book Four, since that’s the novel I’m going to work on this November. The husband and I had walked to the gas station a mile away to get coolant for the van (it’s leaking that stuff, which pisses us off ’cause it’s the only vehicle we’ve got) Continue reading

NaNo tomorrow!

EEEEEEK! NaNo starts tomorrow! I feel so unprepared for it this year. I guess that has a lot to do with the fact that I’m still not done with Book 2 (doubt I will be, but I’m gonna work on it all day anyway), I barely have any notes for Book 4 written up (and most of what I do have is crap that’s gonna get tossed), and I still need to go back over my itinerary for the NaNo meeting at the Continue reading

Third notebook

I just started the third notebook for Book Two about a half an hour ago. Woohoo! This weekend, I ended up writing about seventy pages. Mind you, the pages are about 5″x7″, but still, seventy pages is nothing to sneeze at (unless you have allergies or a cold). I’m now in the transition period between the middle third of the book and the final third of the book. Since I Continue reading

A fair amount of writing

I’d say I’ve gotten a fair amount of writing done this weekend. I wrote about eight pages Thursday, nineteen Friday, another ten or eleven yesterday, and so far today I’ve written about five and the day’s still young. Another twenty-five pages and I’ll fill up the notebook I’m currently working in and will have to start another. Yippee! I’m taking a brief break from the book right Continue reading

Book 2 update

Well, I thought I’d take a break from reading comics to get back to the novel for a while before Rook pops up later tonight. I have to say that while I haven’t gotten as much written so far these past couple days as I’d’ve liked, I’ve still gotten a fair amount written. Yesterday I wrote six and a half pages, and so far today, I’ve written eight. I’m going to try and finish a few more chapters Continue reading

Vacation starts now!

So I’m taking a (really) short vacation from work this week so that I can make an attempt to focus on Book 2 and try and get more of it written before NaNoWriMo starts up. I figured I’d also take the time to look at my notes for Book 4 since that’s the one I’ll be writing come November. I pulled up the document for it, and I suddenly remembered why I hate titles: I suck Continue reading

Getting ready for NaNoWriMo

Well, I’m getting pretty excited about NaNoWriMo starting up soon. I’m hosting the write-ins at the Jasper Public Library, and I’ve got the signs up already to get people thinking about it. Our director’s husband may join us; he likes to write a lot and is a hilarious guy to be around, so it’d be cool if he came. I mailed information packets out to all the county high schools, middle Continue reading

Book 2 Notebook 2

I’ve just started in on the second notebook for Book 2. Woo! Mind you, these notebooks aren’t very large, probably about 5″x7″ or so, and I started the first notebook back in March of 2007, so this is a long time in coming. Still, it’s exciting to know that Book 2 is finally really getting underway. I had been having so many problems with the story simply dragging its feet, and now Continue reading

Tunisian Stitch

To rest my eye, I’ve decided to avoid the computer the better part of the evening, assuming, of course, that the constant staring at the monitor has anything to do with it being irritated in the first place. Regardless, in an effort not to simply read on-line fanfictions all night long, I put in a movie and worked on the other half of a crochet project I started for the crochet class. It’s a booksnake Continue reading

Mind elsewhere

Today has been long. As usual, I’m having another spell of bad sleeping. Not unusual. For me, insomnia often goes hand-in-hand with nightmares, and last night’s was nothing short of disturbing . . . not that any of my nightmares are anything but deeply disturbing. This one, at least, was screwed up enough to even make the husband cringe when I relayed it to him. Long story Continue reading
