NaNo tomorrow!

EEEEEEK! NaNo starts tomorrow! I feel so unprepared for it this year. I guess that has a lot to do with the fact that I’m still not done with Book 2 (doubt I will be, but I’m gonna work on it all day anyway), I barely have any notes for Book 4 written up (and most of what I do have is crap that’s gonna get tossed), and I still need to go back over my itinerary for the NaNo meeting at the library tomorrow to make sure I’m not forgetting anything. I mean, wow! So much going on, and that doesn’t even include the fact that Indiana cowed a few years back and now I’m gonna have to change all my stupid clocks for some retarded system that doesn’t do a damned thing but mess up my head for several weeks. Madness.

Well, in preparation for NaNo and also because Buster was acting up, I had Ian wipe my hard drive last night. He formatted the drive then reinstalled Windows, and I spent the rest of the time re-installing all my basic programs like Open Office, FreeMind, and Paint.net plus a lot of other programs I use regularly. Buster had gotten down to 3 gig of hard drive space, so he was whining a lot early yesterday morning (I woke up at 4:30), and while trying to burn CDs with my stuff on them, he kept locking up and being a baby. Yup, time for a wipe. He’ll probably run better now anyway. I’ve already finished installing the majority of the stuff I want, defragged, and then rebooted. Now I’m just doing a little cosmetic work such as changing the color schemes and adding my favorite sounds back in. I’ll finish up more on it later when I’m not thinking about the looming pressure of getting Book 2 done.

At some point, I’ll post the differences between plot bunnies and plot ninjas, probably when I get around to using those writing exercises in the NaNo write-ins. I think there’ll be a decent turn-out of people considering this is the first year anything like this has been done in Dubois County as far as I know. I look forward to meeting other local writers. 🙂

So it’s back to Book 2 for me. I have no idea how much longer it’s gonna take me to finish writing, but at least it’s still moving forward and hasn’t gotten mired in the muckiness of my tired brain (I haven’t been getting my usual 5-6 hours of sleep a night lately). Time for a pot of tea and a peanut butter sandwich! Have a great Saturday!
