Book 2 Notebook 2

I’ve just started in on the second notebook for Book 2. Woo! Mind you, these notebooks aren’t very large, probably about 5″x7″ or so, and I started the first notebook back in March of 2007, so this is a long time in coming. Still, it’s exciting to know that Book 2 is finally really getting underway. I had been having so many problems with the story simply dragging its feet, and now that it’s moving forward again, it’s coming to me much more quickly. I wrote in it for several hours today, a couple of those hours while on the porch with a pot of tea and a spider that wouldn’t leave me alone no matter how many times I blew it off the TV tray I was using as a writing desk. I’m not sure how many pages I wrote today, but I’m looking forward to writing more tomorrow. So far, I’ve had about a half dozen people ask me when the second book is coming out because they’re itching to read it. It’s odd having a little fan club at the library, even if it does only consist of librarians, hehe. Book 3 has been done for some time now, and so once Book 2 is done and edited, I have only to edit Book 3 before publishing it. I just didn’t want it coming out before Book 2 because that’s silly. I’ll need to recruit a few editors for Book 2 again (hint, hint: Rook & Ian) once it’s completed. I just want it to be finished by the end of October so I can start working on Book 4 for NaNoWriMo in November. If I don’t have Book 2 done by November, I’ll work on one of my many other book projects for NaNoWriMo. I’d rather work on the Solennelle & O series, but we’ll see how that goes.

So Book 2 is progressing nicely, and I’m now in the second notebook. I shudder to think how long it’ll take me to type the whole thing up, but that’s how it goes when you write it first longhand on paper with a fountain pen rather than type the mess up on the computer initially. As of right now, I’m declaring Book 2 to be half done unless the rest of the book takes a few unexpected twists and turns and ends up being longer than expected. The book feels like it’s at a turning point, so that’s why I’m declaring it half done. I’d write more in the book tonight, but my right wrist is starting to bug me (another side effect of writing it longhand: one hand gets tired while the other doesn’t do much) and I’ve got work tomorrow morning. I wonder how much I can get written tomorrow… Guess that depends on whether or not I take arthritis medicine.
