Half an hour

As of right now, there’s only half an hour before National Novel Writing Month starts. I’ve spent the better part of the evening working on my notes for Book Four, since that’s the novel I’m going to work on this November. The husband and I had walked to the gas station a mile away to get coolant for the van (it’s leaking that stuff, which pisses us off ’cause it’s the only vehicle we’ve got) so we could hit Wal-Mart to get index cards and some other stuff before tomorrow. I grabbed a big bag of candy so the WriMos who attend tomorrow’s meeting will get snacky things. When we got home, I started in on the index cards, writing major and minor plot points on each so I can organize the time-line for the story better that way. I’ve got 68 cards so far. Squee! I also have 11 typed pages of notes (10 pt Times New Roman font with .5″ margins, booyah) and a notebook with even more pages of notes. I think I’m finally starting to feel ready for writing Book Four even if I’m still not sure of some of the details or the order of some of the events. Then again, according to the NaNoWriMo site, it’s all about quantity, not quality, lol. Get the 50,000 words written and then go back and clean it up later once the gist of the story is on the page is their suggestion. I’m a little too OCD for that, but it’s a nice reminder to just keep writing anyway.

Aaaaand I’m rambling. That’s not unusual. I think I’ve spent so much time today trying to organize my notes and get my things together for tomorrow’s meeting at the library that I’m hosting that I’ve simply ceased being able to form coherent paragraphs. Um, that might be a bad sign, but I still have twenty-five minutes to go before I have to worry too much about that. 🙂

At any rate, I think I’m going to get back to Book Two until midnight. I’ve got some more to finish in the chapter I’m in and then I think I’ll hit a good enough stopping point to be able to put it up for a month or two before getting back to it. Who knows? Maybe I’ll have the time (and brain cells) to get back to it off and on during November and thus get it finished sooner rather than later. That’d be exciting. Then there’s just the hideous matter of typing the whole @#$%&*?! thing up. 😀

Kk, seriously, now I’m wandering off. Time to work on the Solennelle & O series!

Woot! Can I be your buddy?:

I'm finally attempting NaNoWriMo myself, and I'm totally going for quantity over quality, which is why I'm breaking out of anything I've ever written and doing a post-apocalyptic romance novel.

Hope your quantities add up as well!

    YAY!!:

I wanna add you to my buddy list too! My user name is Erando (go figure). I'm gonna stick with fantasy again this year, though I did have an idea for another romance recently. It's just gonna hafta wait until next year. Glad to hear you're NaNo-ing!
