Postin’ Time

Woo, so I now have Intarnet Tubes running into my room and computer which means I’ll be more likely to get on-line and post and what-nots. I’ve been trying to catch up on comics but got through the first column only and am too braindead to try and finish the rest tonight. Besides, I’ve got lesson plans to write for four classes tomorrow. I did get lesson plans for my two English Continue reading

Phew, busy!

K, so there’s a ton of stuff to type and yet not a lot of time to type it. I’ve still gotta come up with lesson plans for tomorrow, after all. At any rate, here we go, more or less.

Thursday: I woke up around four because Tommy’s alarm went off. He’s nice enough to hit it Continue reading

It begins

Well, as of tomorrow, I’ll officially begin the school year. Tomorrow is the first of the in-service teacher days, which means a day full of meetings and random other business. I’m going to try and grab the English teacher who taught the senior English/novels that I’m teaching this year so I can finally get a syllabus or something to work from. I think I’ve got the speech class figured out Continue reading

Getting ready

Well, I’m more or less ready for orientation tomorrow. Then our in-service days are Thursday and Friday. I even got a letter from the school today about the in-service days. It was mailed here to the parents’ house, heh. Due to my last name’s position in the alphabet, I’m to bring a salad or casserole. Woo? At any rate, I’m seriously looking forward to orinetation tomorrow because then Continue reading

Organize!

OK, everyone knows (or most everyone knows) that I am pretty disorganized at home. Well, I’m pretty disorganized with everything except for categorizing our books with the Library of Congress Cataloguing system and alphabetizing all of our DVDs and using actual card catalogue drawers to organize craft materials, but that’s beside the point. My desk is a mess, my bedroom Continue reading

DIAL-UP!!

Ye gods, I’ve heard Buster make modem noises. The ‘rents have dial-up here out in the boonies (because paying nearly $100 a month for high-speed is retarded if you can just check your webpages at work where there is high-speed internet). Since I’ll be here for a while, I needed to set up my internet connection, so I called the husband and he helped me figure out where I Continue reading

Bye bye, DnD

I meant to post this yesterday or even Sunday, but I spent half of yesterday on campus and the other half playing AC:WW, so the post is today rather than yesterday. No biggie. At any rate, the point of the post is to say that DnD is more or less over with for now. Since I’m going to be moving to LGT and Ian will (hopefully) be getting a job where he’s gone most weekends and Continue reading

It’s unofficial

Well, unofficially, I have the job at LGT teaching full-time as both Language Arts and French teacher. It’s unofficial because there’s still some paperwork to go through, I still need to meet with the principal, and there’s some CPR training left to do, but all that should go smoothly. I’ll be getting my emergency license for Language Arts from Oakland City College, and I’ll be getting Continue reading

LGT update

K, so here’s the deal. I had the interview this morning and they want me to teach. The problem is, of course, that I don’t old a teacer’s license. I can get an emergency license, but only if an accredited university or college is willing to sign off on it. After a very long day spent on the phone to both Indiana State University and Oakland City College, I’ve gotten one school to agree Continue reading

LGT

Oi! I write to you from the sleepy town of LGT. I’m down here for a job interview with the local high school. Yeah, yeah, I normally would never work in a high school, especially since I don’t have a teacher’s license (two more classes and student teaching and I would have gotten it), but, well, I’m looking for a job and this would really help my old school out. After all, if they can’t find Continue reading
