I am now officially out of a job. Dr. Dunbar just called about ten minutes ago to inform me that they had found a woman who is qualified to teach graduate-level classes, so obviously she’ll be qualified to teach the upper-level classes which I apparently cannot. I have to be out of the office by the beginning of August, which shouldn’t be a problem as I had already starting moving stuff Continue reading
Mind-numbingness
Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way. Oh what fun it is to ride in a one-horse open sleigh. Kitty gets the left half of the loveseat; I get the right half. I’ve been playing Animal Crossing: Wild World rather excessively lately. I’m trying to see if the Gulliver guide I found on-line works or not. Was that sentence syntaxically sound? Dunno. I just bruised my leg with my laptop. One Continue reading
RINGWALDS!!
The wedding was fun Saturday! I was happy to see so many family members and to get to talk to so many that I haven’t seen in so long. I was even more thrilled that Ian could be there for this wedding since he hasn’t been to the past couple. He got to meet and see many Ringwalds he’d only heard about. In the spirit of Ringwaldness, I wrote down a list of all the Ringwalds I saw Continue reading
Fortune Telling
I’ve been dreaming a lot lately, which means not a lot of good sleep, but it does prove for fascinating sources of ideas and imagery. Last night, for instance, I was in the middle of a rather long series of dreams when one popped up which involved my siblings. Actually, Mom, Dad, and Aunt Pamela were there too, and I seem to remember Grandma Nolan making a brief Continue reading
Mornings
So far this week, I’ve meant to post about cooking, job searching, the clarinet, and the cat, and I just haven’t gotten around to it somehow. Instead, I’ve been cross stitching like crazy and watching Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. Not a whole lot going on around here. Tonight I tutor, tomorrow I have Knit Wits, and this weekend is my cousin Eric’s wedding. As for the other Continue reading
07/07/07
Kind of a fun date, n’est-ce pas? I bet there are a whole lot of superstitious people out there who’ve decided today’s the day to do important things because they think it will bring them luck, or something. I heard on some news show a couple weeks ago when I happened to be around a television with cable that there are going to be a lot of weddings today, again, probably due to the Continue reading
Happy 4th!
Happy Independence Day! Today’s plans for me and the husband are: watch Nightmare on Elm Street movies while he plays around with learning PHP and I either play WoW or crochet or cross stitch. Kitty has made it clear she’s just interested in napping on the bed upstairs, though she may join us later. Other than those plans, we really don’t have anything on the books. I’m looking Continue reading
Road trip!
The husband and I are taking Lushbaugh on a road trip to LGT to see the “many” sights of the town as well as to pick up the little bro so he can come up to the Haute with us to blow shit up and eat hot dogs. We’re gonna show him the Jug Rock, the library, the K of C, and the high school, at least. Woo hoo road trip!
TKT #15
Because TKTs are so vocabulary dependant and because that vocabulary needs to be easy to access from TKT to TKT, I’ve decided to create a glossary of terms used in TKTs which will be linked not only on the Writings page but also the TKT page. I’ll also try to remember to post it either at the beginning or end of each TKT from now on (and may go back and edit the others to Continue reading
Published!
Remember how I recently was putzing around with my thesis to try and get it edited for publication on Lulu.com? Well, last week, I finished editing and Ian finished the cover, and I sent it to Lulu to be published. I ordered a copy for myself and decided I wouldn’t post it until we got a copy to make sure everything was in order. Well, I got my copy today in the mail and am now Continue reading
