Actually, if you’re eating or planning on eating soon, don’t read this post yet. I have the odd tendancy to turn people’s stomachs with the descriptions of some of the foods I prepare. Not enirely sure why that is; I have no troulbe eating them, but I figured I’d warn the faint of stomach out there anyway. So! That warning being given, here’s what I’m having for lunch today.
Excerpt
I had forgotten that you could up an excerpt of your novel on NaNoWriMo until last night while I was playing around and was actually looking at the forums (for all of five minutes, mind you; I’m not much for forums). I looked at the five and a half chapters (plus prologue) I had written already wondering if any of it would be good for an excerpt. I finally settled (lazily) on what I had Continue reading
Halfway!
I’m at 25k words for NaNoWriMo! That’s the halfway mark as far as the rules of the event are concerned. I broke 25,000 yesterday evening after spending the day doing laundry and watching a few documentaries on the Iraq War, totalling about 370 minutes of film. (If you haven’t noticed, I’ve been in a real documentary-watching kick.) The thing is, I don’t like to write new content Continue reading
Bunch of blurbs
Just a bunch of random things before today really gets into gear. First off, I broke 20,000 words in my novel late last night. I would have gotten there much earlier in the day but I ended up watching a couple documentaries (one on Noam Chomsky and another on Ralph Nader) while playing Animal Crossing for the better part of the evening. I needed only approximately 2,500 Continue reading
Progress
Woohoo! I doubled my word count since yesterday! I had had 8,579 and now I’m up to 17,379! I went ahead and posted it to NaNoWriMo since it’s a quarter of midnight and I wanted to make sure this got on today’s rather than tomorrow’s. What I find fascinating is that with all that I’ve typed up, I’m not even done with chapter three yet. Of course, there is a prologue to this book so Continue reading
NaNoWriMo tracker
I also thought about entitling this post “My husband loves to code too much” but decided against it. After all, messing with the webpages is his hobby, and who am I to deny him that bit of happiness even if he does spend too much effort on what essentially four or five people see? At any rate, he has been playing a lot with RSS feeds, SMS uh thingies, and since yesterday he Continue reading
People wondered why I tried to get away
Loogootee is a small town. It’s pretty much white, pretty much Christian, and it’s pretty much intolerant of minorities. Want proof? Visit this website and click where it says discretion is advised. People have wondered why I’d want to leave such a quaint little community and move somewhere more diverse and more tolerant, and that image pretty much speaks for itself. WHAT Continue reading
WOOOOOHOOOOOO!
The new job
Yay! I have employment! Sort of… It’s part-time as in fifteen hours a week (which isn’t very much, but it’s a start, right?) at around minimum wage (not knowing what minimum wage is right now, I can’t be sure, but I’m guessing it’s around that; bad me for not looking it up) with really no benefits to speak of, but it’s work! And where is this work? Why, at the library! Yay!!! The Continue reading
Job quickie
Getting ready for my (extremely) part-time job that I just got yesterday! More details later once it’s more official. Hooray for (partial) employment!
