Knitting

My knitting’s getting better. I’m not leaving crazy holes in everything I make, and I learned three or four ways to increase. I still haven’t made much beyond all-knit-stitch panels for a blanket and some squares that I suppose are supposed to be coasters or washcloths or potholders or whatever. Still, I’m getting the hang of it. I just haven’t really had the time to explore making Continue reading

Been busy

Yesterday I watched three documentaries while editing pictures for a display I’m making for the library. I watched a documentary on ancient Jerusalem, one about volcanoes, and the last was on the history of the United States Congress. The common theme? All explosive topics, heh. At any rate, I’ve been busy, and with the weather the way it has been, my head feels a bit like exploding Continue reading

Fuel to the fire

Huh. So, uh, remember how I mentioned not being able to sleep or breathe until like, uh, after August? Might make that until after September. One of the local authors contacted me about a fair that takes place in Ferdinand (little town near here) called the Ferdinand Folk Festival. It’s a local thing for artisans, folk musicians, and the like to hang out together and celebrate um, Continue reading

Ah, my life

Sometimes I don’t realize just how nutsy my life is until I start telling people about everything going on. Recently, we had a local author fair at the library with seven authors. Once the number of patrons dropped off and the authors were sitting around chatting, we came up with the idea that it’d be neat to have a booth during the Strassenfest here in Jasper in August. Since I Continue reading

Week’s end

Well, I don’t work again until Monday. Doesn’t mean that the stress is any less prominent. I have a million and one things to do before next week, and while cleaning is one of them, it’s the last thing I want to have to deal with. My crafts stuff is simply all over the place, and I really can’t put any of it up right now because I need it for presents and such. At any rate, I’ve checked out a Continue reading

Curl up with a good book!

I have made yet another display for the library. This one’s for December/January and is a winter-themed one. I actually came up with the idea several months ago, but it had to be put on the back burner for obvious reasons and because of not having much time to work ahead on such projects. At any rate, I have pictures, and while these were taken with the phone rather than a real camera, Continue reading

50k? Check.

Well, some of you may have noticed that my NaNoWriMo word count bar graph to the left of the posts has gone over 50,000 words for this year’s writing event. Woohoo! I did that late last night prior to attempting to go to bed only to get up, play Phoenix Wright games for several hours, and then finally conk out sometime around four. Since getting up, I’ve beaten the game I Continue reading

Well crap

All right, my sinuses have been kicking my ass for the past couple weeks. First it started out with fatigue and some scary lymph node activity (seriously, who put lymph nodes so close to the breasts? Find a lump in that area and it’s cause for a good week’s worth of panic–which is pretty much exactly what I did), and now it’s converted to the typical headaches/scratchy throat/ Continue reading

Meetings

Let’s see, to recap this week so far before I head out to work. First off, the NaNoWriMo meeting Sunday went pretty well. There were two people there besides me and Ian, and rather than follow the itinerary that I had made, Ian and I instead fielded questions to try and get the two other people there acquainted with what NaNo is and how it works. It would have been nice had Continue reading

Distracted

Wow, has it really been all that long since I last posted? Where has the time gone? Just the other day (uh, and now that I type that I realize it was the second of this month), I was bemoaning the fact that it was September already and that August had disappeared so quickly that I barely had time to register that it was even August in the first place. Now it’s September, and the month is Continue reading
