Knitting

My knitting’s getting better. I’m not leaving crazy holes in everything I make, and I learned three or four ways to increase. I still haven’t made much beyond all-knit-stitch panels for a blanket and some squares that I suppose are supposed to be coasters or washcloths or potholders or whatever. Still, I’m getting the hang of it. I just haven’t really had the time to explore making anything more complicated. The class is starting to really take up quite a bit of my time, and October is just going to be chaotic. I’m looking forward to November so I can get back to writing for a while, but I wonder if I’ll have the time to finish a book or not. December should be the first I’ll get to relax a while but there’s my final and then all the traveling around I’m sure to do toward the end of the month. So I’m thinking January… Still, I bet I can get a lot of knitting done by then if I do it while walking to work and while I’m on break and um, you know, when I’m trying to relax from the hecticness that is my life. Knit purl knit purl knit purl knit purl knit purl… Yup, relaxing.

    knitting:

Did you originally learn your knitting skill from either of your grandmas? Have you ever done counted cross stitch?

    Self-taught, for the most part.:

Katie tried to teach me to knit once but it proved rather fruitless for the both of us, hehe. Some time after that failed attempt on my part, I taught myself out of a book. Katie has shown me a few things since then, so I'm getting better.

I love counted cross stitch! It's been a while since I've done any, but there are some of the things I've made under the pictures link on the left bar. I figure I'll get back to it eventually. I have some really great projects I want to finish.
