The Mad Lib can now be revealed! There were a lot of good words, and I used most all of the adjectives, adverbs and nouns in the paragraph. For the rest where there were lots of entries, I just numbered them and rolled a die to determine which ones got used. I’m going to post the paragraph twice: once with the words you gave me and again with the original text as I copied it Continue reading
Mad Lib #2
It’s time for another fun Mad Lib! This time, the husband doesn’t know the book I’m pulling from, so he can join in as well. I’ve already gotten the paragraph typed up and ready; all I need are words! I’ll do this pretty much like last time: you enter words in the comments for this post and once I have enough of each, I’ll insert them into the original text for beaucoup laughs. Some Continue reading
Happy birthday, Damien!
Today, Damien is one year older, and to celebrate that, the husband and I had him over last night for grilled porkchops (hooray for grilling!), fried potatoes with bell peppers, tortilla chips with dip, and ice cream. We watched Juno, a quirky movie about a teenage pregnancy where the dialogue is funny but way too funny to be at all realistic. We had a good time, and Damien’s going to spend Continue reading
Another tick!
Well, I found another tick late last night (or rather, early this morning after I went to bed sometime after two) except that this one wasn’t on me, it was on Kitty. I figured it’d be best to wait to try and do something about it until Ian was home from work (he had an early shift) so we could help each other hold the cat while one of us removed the tick. It was high on her side near Continue reading
Spring cleaning
Today has so far been a day of cleaning. I’ve cleaned the aquarium and picked up a bunch of stuff around the living room. I’ve been doing laundry (which reminds me, I need to put the whites away, get the colors in the dryer and start the blacks) and straightening the bedroom. And we got a vacuum! We’ve had a handheld vacuum for several years now which is great on the furniture Continue reading
Meh
Before I flop down on the floor and watch old movies while playing Pokémon, I figured I’d update. Not that I feel much like updating, but I’m going to anyway. At any rate, it’s the weekend. Also, we just turned the AC on though it’s likely to storm tonight making it cooler and that much more pointless to have the AC on, but the fish tank is too warm right now. Buì is Irish for Continue reading
Critters
OK, so it’s been a while since I’ve updated. That happens. This update, however, has a great thematic whole to it since I can link everything I want to update about to one theme: critters. I even have pictures of some of these critters, so you get to see some of the stuff I’ve been doing with our new camera. I’m using thumbnails for all the pictures, so if you want a larger version, Continue reading
Snails!
The local Wal-Mart sells snails! When I saw that, I immediately wanted one. We had moved some of our old tank stuff here to the house in Jasper, but it’s in the basement (and probably not in any condition for living critters right now) so I went ahead and got a new little tank and a couple little decorations for it. I’ve set it up here in the living room so it can acclimate and Continue reading
Vote!
I got my voter registration card in the mail today. When the husband and I got our new license plates and drivers licenses, we both also went ahead and registered to vote. The crazy thing is that I haven’t voted in an election since George W’s first term when I first went to college and voted absentee (’cause the parents set it up for me). I guess that the main reason why I really Continue reading
Meat Meal & Misc.
For the most part, this post is about yesterday’s fun meal and movie with Damien, but I wanted to also throw some other random tidbits in about other random happenings. At any rate, the first bit of business is about food and fun. I was planning on grilling yesterday, but then realized that it would take way too much time and I wouldn’t be able to do the stuff I usually do on Sundays to Continue reading
