Sibling blankies

Hooray! I finished Katie’s blanket tonight! It took the better part of the evening, and just putting the ribbon in it took over an hour, but it’s finally finished and I have pictures! In fact, I have pictures of all the blankets I made for my siblings. 🙂 (Simon is getting a pillowcase once I figure out how to put buttons on it, and pictures of that will pop up sooner or later.) I’ll post the pictures Continue reading

Library volunteering

Yay! I’m going to be volunteering at the local public library soon. Today was an orientation session, and it was supposed to have four volunteers but ended up with me and another lady whose a retired elementary school teacher. We bascially went over standard library rules, regulations, and procedures–all stuff I’m familiar with already because I’ve worked in both a Continue reading

Chapter 13

Behold Chapter 13! I just finished typing this up a few minutes ago and then did my copy/paste/edit for webpage/upload mess right after. I also updated the Writings page to keep it up-to-date with all the chapter additions. I doubt that I could get Chapter 14 typed up today since I’m not really sure where it’s going to end, and I might want to switch over to adding new content to Continue reading

NaNoWriMo

I’ve just signed up for NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month for those of you unfamiliar with it from Katie’s site). Since it’s still the beginning of October, that means I’ve got plenty of time to decide if I want to try NaNoWriMo with my current novel series (either by continuing with book two or jumping ahead into book three) or if I want to use one of my other book ideas Continue reading

Behold the turnip

Now that I have pictures taken with the camera (as opposed to the phone), I put the turnips up on Etsy just a little bit ago. As far as jack-o-lanterns go, these are pretty adorable and unique. In fact, they’re the only jack-o-lantern turnips I could find on Etsy that were crocheted (or made out of anything else, for that matter). I have only five of them at the moment, but if I start selling them, Continue reading

The Evil Eye

After a bunch of crocheting yesterday (and some today), I finished all the eyeballs I had started. I now have two of each of the following colors: light blue, blue, green, grey, red, black, and brown. Woo! Lots of eyes. I’ve already got all fourteen of them up on Etsy. Now I’m thinking it’s time to take a crack at the spiders. They’re more difficult than the eyeballs but cuter. I’ve got plenty of Continue reading

Continuation

This morning (bright and early!) I went in to the temp agency to turn in my folder of paperwork and show her my passport (I still need to get that renewed; I like visiting other places) to verify that yup, I’m me and I’m an American. Then I watched a short informational video about safety on the job. Since there’s so much industry around here (between the engine factory and furniture Continue reading

News update!

I’ve been back from the interview for just about an hour, and I think it went pretty well. She asked some follow-up questions about what kind of work I’m interested in, and I basically told her that I’m fine doing just about anything so long as I’m not on my feet all day (like a retail store or food place would require). Some walking and standing is fine, but with as annoying as my Continue reading

News!

Woo! Got lots to update about. First off, I finally got some Halloween toys up on Etsy. In about three days, I managed to make ten jack-o-lantern balls. Kind of a crazy amount, but they really don’t take all that long, and since it’s not like I have much else to do beyond laundry and (supposed to be) cleaning. I think that most of the pictures turned out pretty decent. Here’s one Continue reading
