Election Day

Today is the day to get out and vote if you haven’t already done so (Ian and I voted almost two weeks ago). I would like to think that everyone’s voting on the issues, but since watching the news, I’m doubting that is happening in many cases. Regardless, it will be interesting to see how this all turns out this evening. For those of you who aren’t already put off by my political and non- Continue reading

Oh so easily distracted

I got back from volunteering at the library just after five, and I had intended on jumping into working on the novel for NaNoWriMo (wrote about 1,100 words last night starting at midnight) but decided to play a little Animal Crossing while watching Alfred Hitchcock Presents and from there I was distracted by surfing the internet and playing around on Twitter and various Continue reading

NaNoWriMo to begin

Well, in about fifteen minutes (as of the beginning of this post), it’ll be the start of NaNoWriMo. I already have some notes and outlines figured out to get me started on my book. No maps for this book so far, however. I’ll get to work on those probably next week though there won’t be much need for too many maps for this one. I’ve spent the past couple days working out plot details and Continue reading

Happy Halloween!

Just a quick note to wish everyone a happy Halloween. I’ve got no reason to dress up (or even get dressed), so no costumes here but pyjamas and a T-shirt, which makes me a college student perhaps? My shirt does say Indiana State University. Kitty’s dressed up as a hairball with legs, and Ian’s going to dress up as a Radio Shack employee here in a few hours. Beyond all that, I Continue reading

Movie day

So today I decided to take a break from writing or typing up more of the novel and to just play games on my Nintendo DS, watch movies on Netflix, and do laundry. I started off with Legend just because Ian and I loaned out our DVD of it, I’ve not seen it since. After that I watched Crimson Tide because I like submarine movies and had yet to see this one. It was good, and I Continue reading

Some updating

No, I haven’t finished typing up chapter seventeen yet though I’m probably about a third of the way through. I ended up spending a lot of time figuring out where I want the chapter to end, and that resulted in about an hour’s worth of trying to figure out where I want all the other chapters to end. I finally decided to work my way backwards to determine chapter beginnings and endings, Continue reading

Chapter 16

I suppose that the break I took yesterday from seriously working on the novels did my arms a lot of good. I started typing up chapter sixteen today and finished it just now. So here is chapter sixteen for your consideration. I’m debating about going ahead and typing up chapter seventeen too. After all, I’m not tired yet, and my limbs seem to be functioning just fine. My left shoulder, Continue reading

Chapter 15

After much pain in my left arm (and eventually the right), I have finished typing up chapter 15. Whee! Now I need to let my arm rest a while. It’s covered from bicep to palm in goat wrap. I’m thinking that reading sounds like a good way to give my left elbow and wrist a chance to recuperate. My right wrist could use the time off too. The problem with trying to give my joints a Continue reading

Blueprints

I’m a little obsessive when it comes to keeping track of the finer details in my novels. I get so irked when authors suddenly change someone’s eye color inexplicably between books or forget how many windows are in a room or even what year it is within the text. I’m a stickler for consistency, and while I may not be the most consistent person (that’s a laugh), I at least strive to Continue reading
