Woo hoo! It's Friday! Well, it is for another four or five hours yet, but I figured I'd end my week of "detailing my days" so that I feel like I've accomplished at least something this week, even if it is as piddley as updating my web page.
I got to drink my tea this morning at the library because the system was back up. The thing is that I wanted to drink my mint tea, so I did, but it has no caffeine, so I was pretty much dragging ass all morning. After work on authority records at the library, it was off to German 101 where I got my test back – 99%! Yay me! I got points taken off simply because I was misspelling things. I misspelled "Mittwoch" (Wednesday) and "null" (zero), and that was it. Yay me! I'm so proud of myself. 🙂
After German, it was off to the tutoring center where my first student showed up for about twenty minutes to talk about her presentation next week. She's in my Univ 101 class, so I decided to treat it more as a professor-student visit rather than a tutor-tutee visit. After she left, I decided to give my brain cells additional rest by reading a fiction novel. I read it until about 12:15 when I had to stop to sign a student up for chemistry. I left after that and went to the Commons to have a soda while eating Munchies (as in the brand-name Frito Lay snack) and reading my book. Soon it was off to SMWC for my French class!
I love my French students. Today we talked about the French family structure and how the French are, in general, a fairly pessimistic people. We had a good discussion about French society and even how the author of the book writes with a rather biased tone, and they turned in their homework (to draw a picture showing the differences between Roman and Gothic architecture, to write a medieval lai, or to study a midieval poem), and they all did wonderfully. They're so great! They have papers to turn in on Monday, and I'm sure they'll all do splendidly. 🙂
After that, I was driving through West T when a large white van behind me honked and the driver leaned out shouting that my driver-side rear tire is low. I leaned out, and sure enough it was. Very odd. I stopped to take a look at it in a parking lot, but not knowing what to do with it exactly, I just drove home real slow so I could ask Ian when he got home. I was napping when he arrived and told him about the tire, then fell back to sleep until 6:30 or so. We chit-chatted a bit, he ordered pizza while I hopped in the shower, and once it arrived, we started eating. That brings us up to now. We're watching the last Star Wars movie, and I'll probably spend part of the evening playing games or reading because my brain really needs the rest. Since my pizza is getting cold, I'm ending now. Later!
