Well, I’ve finally gotten around to scanning in the cross-stitched cats that I made from the binder my sister gave me for Christmas. I’ve finished January, February and March, and I’ve begun work on April while watching the X-files with the husband. Most of this weekend has been spent playing EQ and sleeping, but I decided to take a break in order to do something else which is equally less Continue reading
The Undead
I don’t know how many of you out there are the “I’m sick and am therefore delusional” types, but I am. When I get a fever or somehing other that lands me in bed with some NyQuil or whatever, I get rambly, about fifty times more than usual, and I get very delusional. Things that normally would never make sense, not even to me, start making sense in very clear and logical ways. I believe it’s Continue reading
AAEQ #3
It’s time for another Advising Adventure in EverQuest! I need to work on the rest of these pages soon–maybe something I’ll do this afternoon–since I have only three more to write. I brought the rest of the screenshots to work today, and goddamn do bitmaps take up too much room. I had to clear out about six or seven folders before I could get the twenty-ish pictures to fit. I’ll edit them Continue reading
Pet Peeve #1
Public toilets are irritating enough, but public toilets that have sensors which cause them to flush automatically really get my goat. First off, they have the tendancy to flush while I’m sitting there. Sometimes that’s not too irritating, but there are toilets out there whose water pressure is so screwy that they splash water all over the place, especially my bum. There are a couple restrooms Continue reading
My afternoon
There are some days when my life feels more random and bizarre than usual. For instance, this afternoon, I’m sitting in my office with Buster up in front of me and some library books scattered all over the place. One is on American graffiti, another is a book about insults, and a third is on bad behavior. I’m working on typing notes up on Buster while watching old horror movies from Continue reading

I’m trying
I’m still kinda sick; I can taste the sinus trouble creeping its way down my throat at a miserably glacial speed. I sometimes think that the speed at which this mucus is moving is indicative of how soon I’ll be over this cold: the next ice age, perhaps. But, at least I slept in later yesterday morning (although I had gone to bed at three) which I suppose is meant to help in the recovering process. Continue reading
Sick and still playing
So my sinuses seem to have progressed into an outright cold. My head’s been aching for a couple days now regardless of what pill I pop. My ears have likewise been aching, most likely from all the nose-blowing and subsequent ear-popping. I just hope it’s not another ear infection; I used to get those all the damn time in high school, and I’d hate to have to go through all of that again. My Continue reading
Boredom
So I get bored up here sometimes, especially on Fridays when students don’t tend to show up. I mean, I’ve had several phone calls and a few students in off and on today, and there was that meeting this morning for all the advisors, but since I’m the only Open Preference advisor up here right now (Heather’s sick and Susan’s in a meeting across campus), there’s no one to bother in the Continue reading
One-eyed cat
I don’t read the news, and not having cable or satellite, I don’t watch the news either. What news I tend to get is from my officemate who does read the news or from the radio driving to and from work. Oddly, the vast majority of the news I get comes from the webcomics I read. Comics, like sitcoms and stand-up comedians, have the tendancy to deal with topical humor/drama such as the Continue reading
