Sick and still playing

So my sinuses seem to have progressed into an outright cold. My head’s been aching for a couple days now regardless of what pill I pop. My ears have likewise been aching, most likely from all the nose-blowing and subsequent ear-popping. I just hope it’s not another ear infection; I used to get those all the damn time in high school, and I’d hate to have to go through all of that again. My throat bounces from being filled with a thick, viscous, goopy, mucus goo to being arid and scratchy–the resulting coughs only add to the strange pulsing that my skull cavities are already doing. My joints ache more than the arthritic norm; my muscles are tense and out of wack making certain nerves pinch at sporadic times causing piercing pain for a while before the dull ache of near-numbness. If I don’t blow my nose every five minutes, it drips, but every time I blow it, I chafe yet more skin off my already scaly and scratched protuberance. To sum it all up, I’m sick. Thankfully, I don’t tend to vomit when sick despite the stomach aches and periodic nausea. The most logical thing for me to do would be to stay in bed, but I woke up at eight (about three hours early for me on the weekends) and am so wide awake that I can’t, for the life of me, seem to pass back out–short of the intervention of some vodka or NyQuil.

So here I am, dutifully back at my computer, wishing to play EQ however can’t due to a patch that’s currently going up. So instead of EQ, I’m going to haul Buster over to the couch with the rest of the screen shots I took of my monk Ruis so I can edit them and get them up on the site for my Advising Adventures in EverQuest. Then I’ll probably archive some more comics and watch a movie. Maybe I’ll install EQ on Buster while I wait. Been meaning to do that anyway so the husband can have two machines on his desk running EQ rather than having to run over the ten feet to Brannagh. Man, I really like the name Brannagh. It’s too bad the husband and I aren’t likely to have any kids soon (or perhaps not at all) ’cause I’d name a kid Brannagh. Brannagh Anne. Or maybe Brannagh Rose. I dunno, it’s a moot point, really, as well as being far off the main point of this post which is about me being sick and unable to play EQ. With my brain being more muddled than its usual state of nonsense, it’s no wonder this post hasn’t taken a turn for the absolute worst and degraded into an argument over who would win in a boxing competition: a Goodyear tire or a Rhode Island Red chicken. Nope, won’t go there–I’ve already been there in my mind for far too long.

So, now that all of that is said and done (thankfully), I’ll leave you with this comic that I read while archiving. I also leave you so I can blow my nose and put on a second sweatshirt. Ciao!

Oh, and I went ahead and put the next AAiEQ up. The bureaucracy continues!
