Thirsty for Knowledge Thursday #1: Shall
I decided that I wanted to have a day where I do a regular post, kind of like Lushbaugh’s Fish Friday and how the big sis always posts her weight loss (and sporadic, unfortunate gain) on the same day of the week. Since I had so much fun posting about phrasal verbs on Katie’s page yesterday, I thought that maybe I could make linguistic randomness a regular part of my own site. Continue reading
Stairs
So I’ve been having a lot of fits lately with stairs. I have, after all, a slight phobia of stairs, but normally it’s not too bad on stairs I climb all the time like the ones in the apartment or the ones here at work. There are staircases out there (and I can think of at least three clear examples) that paralyze me in mid-step, but I’m not around them much. However, for the past three or four Continue reading
Weekend ramblings
I’m not in the mood to type up a lot about this weekend, but I’ll give a run-down anyway because typing might help to keep me awake for another ten minutes. Friday after work I was tired from having sat in the office all day. Lack of sunlight drains my energy faster than repeats of “Mama’s Family” on TV. So rather than hit X3 that night, I talked Lushbaugh into seeing a Monday matinee. Continue reading
More archiving done
I just finished archiving Sluggy Freelance last night after the zombie-killing game Tom ran for us all. I finished it up around 1:30 am. Sluggy goes back to 1997, so I’ve been working on it for the past couple weeks, and now I’m finally done! Sweet! Now I think I’m going to divert my attention over to PVP or MegaTokyo, both of which have had long-standing success and therefore quite a pile- Continue reading
Blearghy brain
Well, I’m groggy this morning. It’s because I dreamt almost all of last night. But yesterday evening was awesome. Ian and I played EQ together for several hours, then he started getting tired, so once my cleric hit 24, we moved to the couch where I finished off the “And Then There Were None” again to get the three other alternate endings. Ian slept beside me with his head on my leg, Continue reading
Happy anniversary!
Happy nine year anniversary, Baby Doll! Can you believe it has been nine years since we first hooked up? You gave me a note that said, “I think I might be falling for you, and I like it. If I ask, will you be mine?” And then I called you when I got home from school immediately to say “yes” a hundred times. And it’s still a hundred times “yes.” I loven you, Baby Doll. You’re the greatest! I Continue reading
I work too fast
It’s not even noon and I’ve run out of work to do. I had a big stack of folders on my desk to use for making students’ schedules, and I’ve gone through all of them already. I guess this means it’s time to cross stitch and read web comics since I didn’t bring anything else in with me. I didn’t expect to be done so soon. This makes me wonder about the rest of the office. If I can get all this Continue reading
My ancestor!
I recently got this game called “And Then There Were None,” which is based off of Agatha Christie’s famous novel, and I just started playing it this evening because I couldn’t think of anything else to do, not having a harddrive in Brannagh to play EQ, and all. So I’m going along in the game picking up books on birds and sailing and sneaking into people’s rooms trying to get Continue reading
Random projects
Well, Heather and I are working on a lot of random projects at the moment. Project number one is about a list of students who supposedly are capable of registering for fall but haven’t yet. We just spent the past half hour looking up students’ holds to see if they actually can’t register for the fall. Out of the 92 OP students, we split the list up (30/31/31), and out of my 31, 25 had holds of Continue reading
Sweet
My meeting with Keri was coolness incarnate. I’m really excited about getting to teach French this fall even if the chances are that it’ll kill me physically and mentally. I mean, teaching four classes in a day with practically no break is going to be rough, but the grading will be just as insane. No wonder Tony was always tricking me into grading assignments for him. He figured out that I have Continue reading
