Clothes and the cat

Kitty has a thing for lying on my clothes. It’s probably related to how infants feel better and do better when they sleep if the parents put their own blankets and pillows in with the kid. It’s the scent that makes them feel better. Kitty really like my clothes. Sure, she’ll sit on Ian’s clothes if they’re in her way, but she goes out of her way to sleep on top of one of my T-shirts or a pair of Continue reading

Brown again

Well, the hair is back to brown for the time being. Since I just now dyed it, it’s still wet and I can’t tell yet how dark it will be. I have a feeling that it’ll be darker than my natural brown, but who cares? I’ll just turn around in a week or two and dye it red again (I already have the bottle of red dye upstairs in the bathroom closet). The only reason why I dyed it brown right now is because Continue reading

@#$%^&*!? Heartburn

I hate heartburn. Can’t think of anyone who enjoys it, but man, I really fucking hate it. It seems like it has been months (and it probably has been) since I’ve started getting heartburn on an almost daily basis. In fact, I know this has been going on for months. Just type “heartburn” into the search box in the left panel of my webpage, and it pulls up a post from last October. Some days I get it Continue reading

Happy Bastille Day!

Actually, I’m not in the mood to care to remember a bunch of people storming a prison and setting fire to a lot of stuff, but it was something to use as a title, and that’s all that matters. I’m more concerned with the fact that the Mommobile is leaking gas. It’s no wonder I’ve had to put money in it every other day despite the fact that I’ve barely driven the little bitch. So when Ian wakes up Continue reading

TKT #4

French Pejorative Suffixes

Well, since the thesis is holding most of my attention this week, I thought it would be an appropriate TKT topic to discuss what my thesis is all about. I could just post the entire thing up here (I have it in PDF format, after all), but who wants to read through 119 pages of esoteric French linguistics research? Hell, I wrote it and don’t want to read through all that right now! So Continue reading

Jerry Jabbering

I heard back from the grad school yesterday about Jerry’s formatting. It wasn’t much, actually. Take the bold off on this one thing, make this one thing in italics, put little dots between the chapter number and the page number in the table of contents… Piddly stuff, really. The only thing I have to contest is the use of small caps for subheadings in each of my chapters versus just having them in Continue reading

RCM is live!

The husband did it! He got the Random Comic Maker working! It works simply enough. On the base page, it displays the latest RCM comic that was made. Click on “Create” in the green bar to make your own. You type in your name and webpage (RCM saves both these fields), and under each panel, you write your captions. Then you can give it a title and hit “Submit.” It will save and Continue reading

Jerry again

Sweet. We ran to Office Max this afternoon and got the bond paper and got Jerry printed off. I plan on running him into the School of Graduate Studies tomorrow for approval, so one step closer. I’ll probably go early in the morning because that’s when Ian’s most likely to be up to be able to pay for the transcript and all that. I think I’ll probably hit the library and Root while I’m Continue reading

Jerry update

Well, now that Ian and I have a little money, it’s all going to be spent on Jerry. Gotta pay for the paper, professional printing, the binding fees, and any other additional fee the school can come up with. This should have been done a while ago, but since we were living on a shoestring, there was no way we could afford getting all of this done before now. So I’m going to spend the rest of the Continue reading

First week off finale

Simon and I are watching the cut scenes of Clerks. We played through the old Shivers game again, and I’ve picked the game 9 again, but I don’t know that I’ll finish it through. It’s a very sound-oriented game and it’s hard to play with any background noise. The biggest fault I find with the game is the lack of captioning or other accomodations. Shivers has captions. Continue reading
