Well, as of yesterday, Simon returned home and took the husband with him. By the end of Simon’s visit, Kitty was getting tired of having another person around the house, and I’m sure the random opening/closing of windows to let in/prevent cold air got to her as well. At any rate, it was a fun visit with Simon and I hope he gets to come up for a while this summer. Continue reading
Water, water.
I like our apartment. For the most part, it’s a really, really great place. Sure, we could use more counter space in the kitchen, as usual, and we could probably stand better handrails on the staircases, but for the most part, it’s been just fine. We’ve always had a problem with the faucets leaking a bit around the base when the tap is turned on in the kitchen and bathroom, Continue reading
For Simon:
Hey Boog, I know you’ve been doing lots of random on-line flash games and reading random websites, so I thought I’d kick you this link to Bored.com so you can kill a few more brain cells…or kittens. Enjoy!
Typing
I’m not entirely sure why I’m posting; I just felt like typing. It’s early yet, or at least, it feels early since I’ve been at the office since 8 o’clock. I feel like doing research or working on the novels or drawing more paper fish. I don’t feel like writing lesson plans or grading papers or any of the other numerous things I ought to be doing while here at the office. I probably shouldn’t Continue reading
Chad Vader
Random updates: Simon seems to be enjoying himself by reading a lot of on-line comics, poking the cat, and introducing us to Wii games. It is unfortunate that his character was killed Saturday in the DnD game, but his character will be brought back to life at a later date, and he seems to be interested in the new character he has rolled up who will be his first character’s half sister. Continue reading
Simey!
Wheeeee! Simon’s up for the week, and he has discovered my Comics Links and is enjoying several of my links. He has been archiving several of them and I keep hearing punctuated laughter from the other room. I figure that since he now has high-speed internet, he’ll be sated for quite a while. He’s got a cat to pester, ramen to eat, and a TV with pretty well unlimited Continue reading
Un jeu d’assorti
I had fun playing the big sis’ matching game recently on her page, and I thought it would be a fun game to put on the door of my office. After all, not too long ago I had a matching game where one was to match phrases about cats between French and English, and this is another sort of matching game, kinda. So I sat down and putzed around a bit with a few dictionaries and came up with the Continue reading
Knit Wits
I’m wasting time in the office until Knit Wits in about fifteen minutes. I guess I could make some tea or grade something or organize something, but no. I’m dabbling in a bit of blathering. I need to remember to plug the phone in when I get home. It’s beeping at me. I also need to remember to eat. I sort of haven’t done much of that today. Meh. It needs to be Continue reading
Must share!
Too funny, just too funny. I had to share this with y’all. 🙂 America’s Craziest Laws is a funny site. I–I just can’t stop laughing. Find your state and enjoy! What are your favs?
Catching up
Let’s see, there’s a lot to catch up on. I think I’ll start with last Friday. I had some interesting presentations from my intermediate-level classes including but not limited to: men’s fashion in the U.S. and Europe, French fairy tales, and Asian bird flu. The furnace ceased functioning late last week, so the husband and I got to spend the entire weekend bouncing from a chilly Continue reading
