I dislike Spring. I think it’s the smell. After all, memories are stronger and more easily remembered with a strong smell associated with them. Of course, there’s also something to be said about having other similar chemical compositions in the body to aid in remembering, but that’s neither here nor there. For right now, I’m going to focus on smell. It’s part of what Continue reading
Carrots
Well, I’ve all but condensed my notes for the novels so far. There’s still a small pile of looseleaf papers to copy into my notebook, and then I’ll still have to type up the notebook into Buster, but it’s much easier to find things already. As for actually writing up new material for Book Two, I’ve got only about nine pages so far, but it should take off as soon as I finish Continue reading
Funny lines
You know what’s fun? Going through old stuff. It’s absolutely fascinating going through five years of writings and doodles and poems and looking at it all and seeing what looks like stuff I would have created today and what could only have been done years ago. Then it makes me wonder if in another five years, if those observations will change or stay the same. I’ve Continue reading
Trying to organize
Well, I’ve gone through three rooms of our house looking for notebooks and folders containing notes for my books, and so far I’ve come up with twelve notebooks and six folders all containing notes, passages and diagrams for the novels. There are an additional three notebooks which contain the actual novels themselves (two for Book One and one so far for Book Two). Though I Continue reading
Happy birthday, Tommy!
Today is Tommy’s birthday! So everyone wish him a happy birthday. 🙂 I can still remember Tommy when he was really little–how Katie used to try and turn the top of his ears inside-out so he looked more like Spock, how he used to wear this orange Mickey Mouse shirt that Grandma didn’t like simply because it was orange, how he seemed to jump all the time or never simply walk Continue reading
Begin Book 2
I know I haven’t finished typing up all of Book One in the Solennelle & O series, but I have had the major urge to begin work on Book Two. I have had the urge to work on it before, but I wanted to wait until I got a particular type of notebook. Since I started work on the books in France, I was using French notebooks of a particular brand which I really like with a line style I Continue reading
Late is the hour
Not playing an MMO has afforded me quite a bit of free time. Oddly, I find I’ve spent much of it playing at sudoku and watching Star Trek: The Next Generation. However, not all of my new-found free time has been spent idling away doing unproductive stuff. I have managed to get quite a bit of my DnD campaign back up and running as well as having done some actual work-related Continue reading
Book labels
I’ve been toying with the idea of working on our library again. It’s always in the back of my mind, but today I’ve decided to play around with determining protocol concerning book labels. So far, about the only protocols I have decided upon concern the placement of labels on the books. This being a personal collection, I do not have to follow the usual or common guidelines of putting Continue reading
Happy birthday!
I just wanted to wish my dear, sweet, insane husband a happy birthday today. 🙂 So far, he has done dishes, taken out the trash, and fixed us some black-and-bleu burgers. We dropped off the rent check, filled up his car with gas and are watching Star Trek: The Next Generation. He’s making chili tonight, he has eaten a bag of M&Ms, and we’re starting up my campaign again Continue reading
Renew / renovate
Renovate. Renew. In French class I explained the difference between neuf “new” (as in brand-new straight off the assembly line) and nouveau “new” (as in new to you but not necessarily brand new) when a student (one of my foreign ones) wanted to know the difference between rénover “renovate” and renouveler “renew” because they both generically mean “to make new again” in a Continue reading
