Happy Independence Day! Today’s plans for me and the husband are: watch Nightmare on Elm Street movies while he plays around with learning PHP and I either play WoW or crochet or cross stitch. Kitty has made it clear she’s just interested in napping on the bed upstairs, though she may join us later. Other than those plans, we really don’t have anything on the books. I’m looking Continue reading

Fun with cousins
We had a lot of fun last night with Chuck, Jane and Theresa. We even got to meet Jane’s boyfriend Alex who lives in this area and loves Lego a whole lot. We pretty much just spent the evening sitting around our many-seated living room chit-chatting. Jane left to go conk out at Alex’s ’cause she worked a double shift yesterday, and the rest of us hit Steak ‘N Shake around Continue reading
Happy birthday, Rook!
Today, Rook is officially 17 years old. Crazy, isn’t it? I remember when he was born…and that makes me feel kinda old. Then again, Mom and Dad remember when I was born, so does that make them ancient? Lol, just kidding! At any rate, I’m thrilled that Simon managed to not accidentally kill himself with his swords, nunchucks, trees, insanity or whatever in the past year to Continue reading
*Yawn*
Grar, it’s before eleven o’clock and I’m up. How irritating is that? 😉 It doesn’t help matters that I went to bed around five in the morning because Ian and I grouped our gnomes for several hours trying to level and complete quests in WoW. Madness. I wouldn’t be up if it weren’t for the house phone ringing, someone leaving a message on the machine, then my cell phone ringing immediately Continue reading
Two and a half weeks
Insanely long post following! Readers beware!
OK, so here’s to me finally updating since my last post actually updating stuff about my life. Where to begin? Probably right after my haircut, since that’s where I left off. Um…lessee, I think the weekend after that was Jamie’s bachelorette party. We ended up walking all over creation in downtown Indy trying to find a bar/club to hang out in because the one we wanted to visit (which Continue reading
Domestic
On a recent shopping trip to Wally World, Ian and I got fairly domestic. I’m not sure how it started–probably something to do with the fact that we’ve been meaning to get a new salt shaker/pepper mill set–but once we got on a housewares kick, we had a hard time stopping. To be honest, the way in which we’ve accumulated kitchen utensils and appliances is rather Continue reading
Moo weekend
Phew, OK, this weekend is almost over. I know most people look forward to their week being over, but I’m just looking forward to anything being over that will let me relax a bit. See, the ‘rents went to the big sis’ place for the Big Three’s first communion, leaving Simon and Tommy in LGT. Simon asked to come up to the Haute for the weekend. So Friday, the husband and I left Continue reading
Zap
Well, as of yesterday, Simon returned home and took the husband with him. By the end of Simon’s visit, Kitty was getting tired of having another person around the house, and I’m sure the random opening/closing of windows to let in/prevent cold air got to her as well. At any rate, it was a fun visit with Simon and I hope he gets to come up for a while this summer. Continue reading
Water, water.
I like our apartment. For the most part, it’s a really, really great place. Sure, we could use more counter space in the kitchen, as usual, and we could probably stand better handrails on the staircases, but for the most part, it’s been just fine. We’ve always had a problem with the faucets leaking a bit around the base when the tap is turned on in the kitchen and bathroom, Continue reading
Simey!
Wheeeee! Simon’s up for the week, and he has discovered my Comics Links and is enjoying several of my links. He has been archiving several of them and I keep hearing punctuated laughter from the other room. I figure that since he now has high-speed internet, he’ll be sated for quite a while. He’s got a cat to pester, ramen to eat, and a TV with pretty well unlimited Continue reading
