Blinking

I remember the first time I discovered blinking. I never know if other people have these realizations about their bodies or not, but I had quite a few when I was little like the time I discovered that I could hold my breath and sort of control it. But for right now, blinking. The first time I realized that I blinked and that I could control it, I was in Grandma Nolan’s living room Continue reading

Happy 3rd Anniversary!

Today is the third anniversary of the husband and my wedding. I kept thinking it was either Thursday or Friday, but it’s actually today. So Ian and I have been officially married for three years now, though we’ve been together for eight and a half years and we go by that more than the wedding date since it’s hard to remember the date in September versus the one in May since Continue reading

Slimy Pee

The husband and I subjected Simon to a hella lot of South Park, and so now his brain should be almost thoroughly rotted. We also played some DnD, and I got to kill him with a red dragon. That was fun. I started building model buildings with Simey, but he kept cutting the paper kinda retardedly, so I gave up on having him help me and instead made them all myself. Other than that, Continue reading

Comic and writings

I added another comic to the links page, as if anyone really has the time to go through all of them at this point. The comic is the Coffee Achievers, and it’s really quite a “I draw this on my Livejournal to have my crazy fantasies played out” sort of comic with Wiccans, lesbians and people hanging out in coffee shops. Lots of repeat themes, honestly, but then again that may be Continue reading

Second novel

Yeah, I know that I haven’t finished the first novel or gotten what I do have back up on this page, but I had some ideas for the second novel and wanted to get them down before I forgot. I’ve been working on this section off and on this week when I had time at work, and I finished typing it all up on the computer this morning while Ian and Simon were asleep. Of course, go figure that now that Continue reading

Gee, I know I’m worthless but…

So here’s how much an intern is worth. True story since it just happened to me this morning. Heather and I got in at about a quarter to eight, which is normal since we’re early birds and don’t like coming in late like everyone else who shows up at half past or even nine or later. Yesterday during the meeting (where we were mostly ignored since it was more for staff than lowly interns), Continue reading

Oy

Ah, I remember the good old days when Tony and I used to sit around and say “oi!” to each other for five minutes at a stretch. Now those good old days are gone ’cause that punk moved his ass to Indy and I haven’t gotten around to running over and visiting. Random. At any rate, while interesting (I’m sure to at least someone, even if that someone’s me), that’s not really the point of Continue reading

Amusing students

I’m already amused by many of my students. Their first homework assignment was to e-mail me so that they would have to log onto the Sycamore Portal and so that I knew they knew how to get to their e-mail from there since that’s what I’ll be using to contact them. At any rate, I laughed at quite a number of their “Hello, I accessed my account” e-mails. One girl wrote “I like cheese too” Continue reading

Stress

Between worrying about finances, the thesis, my classes, starting work back up, not having finished unpacking the study, a psycho cat who’s always on edge, the husband going back to school, and just the other general concerns of being a human being, I’m rather a fucking wreck. I think that the head cold I had a few weeks ago is coming back to add to the aches in all of my Continue reading
