Today, Dad is another year older. 🙂 I haven’t gotten a chance to talk to him yet today because I worked today then ran around with Ian all afternoon then had my crochet class this evening. Busy day! From what Rook tells me, Dad’s busy right now at a girls’ basketball game running the concession stand. I was gonna ask him how he likes the present I made for him and to wish him a happy birthday. Happy birthday!
Today’s crochet class went well. I taught them how to make fringe on their scarves. Next year, I’ll start them on more advanced stitches, but for now, everyone seems really happy to use the most basic stitch for their scarves, and several people have already finished theirs and are making a second. Woohoo! I’m glad they’re having fun.
Tonight, I’m going to work on laundry, watch a Sherlock Holmes movie and probably crochet. I’ve got a project that is going to take a little while since I’m not too comfortable with the pattern. I just really need to sit down and focus on it to get it to work, and this weekend would be a good time for it since I don’t work Saturday or Sunday. There’s still the matter of two afghans to finish too. Madness.
On a sad note, Ian’s car is no longer ours. It was going to cost over three times the value of the car to get it up and running again, and we knew we simply couldn’t afford that. I have a job where I can walk every day, and we have the minivan still (though for how long is anyone’s guess), so we decided to part with the Celebrity. It’s odd how sad it feels to know it’ll never be outside the house again. I mean, it’s a car, but it was really our first car together for almost the entire time we were dating and when we got married until we got the minivan a few years back when I stopped driving it as much. Lots of memories. Like the time it died on the interstate in downtown Dayton during rush hour. Or when a large tree limb nearly fell on it in our backyard a couple years back. Or like how just about every one of my siblings ran into it at least once (and even Ian used it to hit my van). Or all those trips back and forth to Vincennes, Terre Haute, Indy, Cincinnati, Loogootee… Yes, the Celebrity will be missed. She was a good car.
At any rate, I’m going to pop in a movie, get the laundry into the dryer and start another load. Then it’s WoW and crocheting and wondering if the rain right now will turn into sleet or later. I’d rather not walk on icy sidewalks, after all.
Thanks for birthday wishes:
Day went fairly well. Enjoyed talking to you last night. The scarf looks great and is Colts colors (Go Colts!).
Love, Dad
Thanks:
for the birthday wishes. 53 is associated with my birthday. I was born in '53. Got Rook back ok.
Love, Dad
Lol…:
At least I know my dad's age. He's 56.
:P:
Well, I know when he's born, and I stated I was simply too lazy to do the math so I guesstimated. I figure Dad doesn't mind having a few years shaved off his age anyway. 😉
BUT….:
You look 53 huh Joe…whatever 53 looks like!! Hey, if you're 53, then I'm 51! Whoo Hoo! 🙂
