Tada! More pictures because I finally got around to it. 🙂 For starters, I have pictures of my new pet snail, Herbert. Technically, he’s a stuffed snail, but who cares? He’s cute, and was a thoughtful present from Aunt Rachel. 🙂 I have no idea how she managed to find a snail stuffed animal, because most stuffed animals are of mammals, not invertebrates. One of the cool things about Herbert (pictured below, and you can click on the picture to get a slightly different angle) is that he’s what’s called a “Shining Stars” stuffed animal. When you get one of these, you can go on-line and register to have a star named whatever you want with the International Star Registry. Spiffy, huh? I named the star “Kitty F. Doyle” because I name tons of stuff after Kitty. 😀 So here’s Herbert:

Next up are four pillowcases I just finished for Etsy. Technically, the pillowcases themselves have been done anywhere from three weeks to a week ago, but I had yet to sew the buttons on them. I finished two yesterday and the other two today. Just imagine how long it would take me to finish pillowcases if I sewed zippers in them! That’s one of the reasons why it took me so long to finish Jessica’s pillowcases, lol. At any rate, I just included a picture of each, without a pillow, just to give you a general idea. You can also click on each to get a larger version of the same image.

I have more yarn for yet more pillowcases, but I want to make more eyeballs, pumpkins, and spiders first. I think I want to make about five or six of each before putting them up on Etsy. In addition to the Halloween trio I’ve got so far, I’m working on making a pattern for a brown bat. I suppose I’ll make black bats too, but I’ve started with the brown one first. I generally try to make these toys with as few pieces to be sewn together as possible (the only exception so far is that the leaves on the pumpkin need sewn on), so I’m trying to design the bat that way. So far it’s not working out too great, so I have a feeling I’ll be making the wings separate from the rest of the body then sewing them on at the end. I’ve made the top to one bat so far (they are in two halves when I make them, then I sew them together), and when it was done, both Ian and I had the compulsion to put it on the cat. 🙂 Poor Kitty! There’s another picture of her with the batwings on her head if you click on the one below.

So there’s my pictures update. I’ve got a bat and a pumpkin to finish, and I’ll probably take a walk down to the gas station here in a little bit to grab a newspaper. Enjoy the pics, and have a great day!
Herbert:
Great name!! Would you believe I found him at a Hallmark store? They carry the most interesting things!!
Kitty F.:
What does the "F" stand for? I have a guess…!
Hallmark stores do carry a lot of random stuff:
Technically, we generally don't consider Kitty to have a middle name, but I wanted her star to sound more official or name-like (or something, hehe), so I put the F in there for Fleckenstein since she originally was their cat. Ian thought it was something else, but he's a silly head. Even more technically, Kitty's full name was Shitty Kitty Tree, then the husband and I took her in and renamed her Kitty Doyle. As for the Shitty Kitty Tree, that's something you'd have to ask Katie about. 😉
Poor Kitty:
Great pictures!
