Crowley Colby

Sometimes I like to do something special for the husband. He is, after all, the greatest person in the world, and the cutest on top of that. So since he has been putting up with me being unemployed and me making a mess of the living room in the name of organizing and cleaning, I decided he needed something a little different. Knowing my husband pretty well, I decided on cheese. I had seen on an episode of Dirty Jobs a little cheese place up in Vermont called Crowley Cheese and the hand-made colby they make looked really good, and I decided to check out their website. They’re the oldest continuous cheese makers in the country! They sell sampler packs, so I decided that I’d pick three different cheeses and surprise Ian with them. I picked extra sharp (Ian’s favorite cheddar is extra sharp, so I thought he might like this), sharp (my favorite is not extra sharp, so this one’s more for me), and sage (just because it sounded unique and interesting). When it arrived, I drew a “I ♥ U” on the front and stuck it in the fridge. Then when he got home, I presented him with it. He was confused, but that’s OK. We broke into the extra sharp first, and Ian was very happy. He loves good cheese! I just opened the sharp and I really like it a lot better. Cheese is good period; excellent cheese is amazing. I guess Ian and I are into cheese like some people are into wine or beer. 🙂 I’m looking forward to trying the sage, and I’m looking forward to seeing how we can use some of what we have in recipes. Go cheese! If you’re interested, I do highly recommend Crowley cheeses despite them being a little pricey. Mmmmm, cheeeeeeeese.
