Delaware pics

Okay, so finally the pics and stuff from Delaware. To keep the main page from taking forever to load, I&#039m just making text links to the pics because otherwise it will take uh, forever to load. Yeah. At any rate, enjoy!

First off, we packed. I packed Wednesday night and Kitty pretty much told me that she didn&#039t want me to go by sitting in my suitcase. After work on Thursday, Jamie and Lushbaugh picked us up in that Impala thingie and we were off. Ian was as cute as ever and I got to sit with him in the back for most of the trip. We hit a hailing thunderstorm in Ohio and had to pull off the road a while. After taking forever and getting told to be quiet and pass out about fifty times, we hit Delaware.

We went crabbing which was interesting in that it involved tying dead chicken parts to fluorescent pink string and slinging it into scummy water. Fun! The first day, I caught two good ones, but we eventually had to dump them &#039cause we didn&#039t catch enough. Too bad I don&#039t have a picture of Jamie with her rock-on-a-string which she used to torment the little buggers.

I also managed to convince the gang to play the Telephone Drawing game. I saw it on a web comic and thought it was an awesome idea, so I got the rest to play it with me. The results were…unique. I&#039d love to play this with a larger number of people. I bet it would be even more hilarious.

Wandering around downtown Dover, we saw historic stuff. The state&#039s oldest church has a spiffy cemetery. Delaware was the first state to ratify the Constitution thingie, and the tavern where the drunk dudes signed it has a sign bearing its name the Golden Fleece as well as a plaque which yaps about it. Oooh history!

Going to the beach, we saw a sign which was way too funny. I had to get a picture of it. Once at the beach, Jamie and I plopped down waiting on the boys to park. Beside us was a sand sculpture supposedly in the shape of a head, but the eyes looked like boobs to me. I&#039ve never seen conical eyes, after all. I got a pic of Jamie and Lushbaugh in the ocean, Jamie falling down and Lushbaugh laughing. I don&#039t swim in the ocean. It stinks, it tastes bad, it knocks me down and it rips you apart while filling your suit and orifices with rocks and sand. Where&#039s the fun in that? There isn&#039t any, that&#039s what I&#039m saying.

On the fourth we all went fishing. Here&#039s Lushbaugh with a rod in his hands trying to wrestle one in. I managed to bring in three and a half. The half is because I brought one part-way in, but it was way too heavy for me to bring in all the way. That one ended up being about three feet long too! It&#039s the middle one in this cooler, the huge one. The problem with fishing is that I don&#039t know how to do it, really. I had the rod and reel and figured out the reeling part, but I had no idea how to prop the pole against myself for leverage. I ended up putting it against my hipbone, resulting in an interesting bruise which led me to believe we should head home ASAP. We were missing Kitty pretty bad by this point.

So we drove home in the Impala. Most of the way there, I read word game puzzles from a magazine for everyone to play or read Trivial Pursuit cards. Ian and I coddled Kitty a lot and got her mooshy food which she enjoyed a lot. We brought home a bunch of fish fillets, but she hasn&#039t seemed that interested in them. I like them though. I mean, take a look at this awesome dinner that Ian made tonight. Awesome. Sheer awesome.

So all in all, it was a pretty good vacation. My joints are still flaring up and my back still aches from the car trips, but the fish and silly memories are well worth it.

Welcome Home, Don't Believe A Word Out Of Kitty:
Kitty didn't miss you one bit. I know, because Dustie the Cat and Kitty were on the phone together constantly. :p

The telephone drawing looks and sounds like fun. I need to remember that game. 🙂

Looks like you had a great time; even with the bruising. Have you thought about tiling that bruise pic as your desktop? LOL

  2. Lushbaugh

    eh:
I'm just glad everyone had a good time. Maybe I'll make fish for dinner on sunday 🙂

    That sign is great!:
Steven says that you should send it to Maxim for the "Found Porn" section. He said it would almost definitely make it in. Maybe their website has the address, cause he doesn't have any of his magazines with him in Chicago. Do it!! 🙂

    Awesome pics!:
Too bad about the crabs, they looked really yummy too. Looks like you remember the sunscreen this time around. hehe

  5. Jamie

    Woo hoo!:
I'm glad you got a pic of the Crabby Dick's sign 🙂 Oh, and the one of Mike and me in the ocean. Thanks for that. Definitely going in my album. I like how you did the story.

    Ohh yeah:
You should post the other pics of that game. My fav's, the poo nuggets and the devil dancing on your ass.
