Alone

The husband has left for LGT to spend time with D-man for his birthday. He left sometime this afternoon, I assume, because he wasn&#039t here when I came home from Tony&#039s office after work. Kitty did her usual &#034pester wooman and follow her around&#034 bit for a while after I got home, and then she wandered off to enjoy a window ledge. I ate the leftover fruit salad from yesterday&#039s dinner with Sarah and Jessica (which, btw, was hilarious and I can&#039t wait to get the pictures developed) and archived a web comic for a while before deciding to take a nap. Yesterday&#039s schedule was insane so that it was midnight before I knew it and I still had a presentation to write for my pragmatics class. I decided to go to bed and just get up at four to work on it, which I did, and then when I was done around six, I couldn&#039t fall back to sleep. So I had been up a while. I chatted briefly with someone on-line before finally telling them that I needed a nap, then I went to sleep until 9:30 whereupon I looked at the clock, thought &#034Huh, 9:30?&#034 then passed out again until 10:30 when Ian called for Damien&#039s phone number (which was in the phone and not on his computer). I ate the last piece of chocolate cake from Jessica&#039s birthday party yesterday and popped open Buster (because I haven&#039t dug Brannagh back out yet though he has been up and running since yesterday). For some dumb reason, my instant messengers, which were set to &#034away&#034 decided to come back as &#034on-line&#034 when I woke Buster back up from his nap. So rather than just checking my e-mail and maybe archiving some comics a while before passing out again, I&#039m talking to people who don&#039t seem to realize that I&#039m too groggy to hold down a serious conversation. I mean, look at the mess which is this post! The reason why I started typing hasn&#039t even appeared in here yet. I&#039m rambling and trailing along like a snail trail. Crazy.

So the point of the post before I forget again is about Kitty. When I woke up about forty minutes ago, she heard me talking on the phone, so she came in and hopped on the bed to be pet a bit. She then followed me around as I went to the bathroom and into the kitchen and then back into the bedroom. She sat on the bed a while longer while I finished talking to Ian, then she got up and started snooping around the room like she does when we&#039ve rearranged everything and she&#039s getting used to the new layout. I kind of stopped paying attention to her as one of my on-line friends started getting into random relationship stuff, and when I looked up again, she was sitting on the floor in front of Ian&#039s chair by his computer desk, looking up at it. I didn&#039t say anything and just kept typing, and she just kept sitting there. Not wandering around, not sniffing things, just waiting by his desk. After about ten minutes (and after I started this post), she came over to sit on the bed by my feet where she is currently still lying. I just think it&#039s adorable that it&#039s obvious how much she already misses Ian, and he has been gone for only half a day if that long. I guess she just got used to him always being here. I wonder if I&#039ll be sitting in front of his desk looking up at it soon.
