Heather's out today with an impacted wisdom tooth that needs immediate attention, so it's just me and Cthulu today at the office. Therefore, I haven't bothered turning the lights on because it's sunny and there's more than enough light coming in the two large windows. I've e-mailed my class with the usual weekly events list, and I've done some other stuff but I can't remember what. Oh, right, I updated my ISU webpage and got some stuff from the little sis when she swung by here earlier. Other than that, it has been catching up on e-mails and and phone calls all morning. Exciting.
I figure that I'll eat lunch here at the office because I'm still not feeling 100%. I think my allergies are acting up really bad because I have a sore throat still, a headache toujours, and am generally tired as usual. I don't have class until one, so I have some time to work on editing the advisor's evaluation forms before moving onto flipping through another book for more article ideas for the prof pack I'm collecting for next fall's Univ 101 classes. I really don't want to teach "Tuesdays with Morrie" ever again because it's boring. It's a decent book, but it's so fucking boooooooring. I figure that a bunch of shorter essays and articles will be easier on the students' brains anyway since many of them have never read a novel before and get scared at the very idea so they don't read anything. Dense students. Here I am forever grateful to my older sis for teaching me to read when I was so young so that I now have the entire world at my fingertips through print, and most of my students treat books like they'll get a disease from it. So sad. Oh well, here's to trying to change something.
Cthulu just landed on his head upon climbing out of his plant. Silly snail. I really ought to get him some playmates. Random aside from Random Wooman.
So I'm going to wander off now to try and get this evaluation form done before this afternoon so I can waste an hour or two drawing more comics until 3:30 when I have to start calling students again. Hooray! If my job got any more exciting, I'd explode. Messy messy.
