Pain!

OUCH! Today has been so very painful! I picked up three very large, heavy art books at the library early this morning because I want to be able to show my French students examples of Gothic architecture. Hauling them around either in my arms or in my backpack meant one of two things: either my arms hurt or my shoulders did. I finally walked them all the way back to the apartment at lunch whereupon my shoulders felt like someone had been beating on them with a meat tenderizer.

Then it was more running all over campus for class, work, dinner, class, then home again. My legs are pretty stiff from all the walking I did, especially since I walked home very quickly to get my blood pumping so I would stay awake well enough tonight to work on two sets of lesson plans, a bibliography, three chapters in lexicology, a journal entry, and grading Univ 101 papers. Yeah, did I mention that I didn&#039t get home until 7:30? Not a lot of time to do a whole lot of stuff.

So then I was (obviously) hungry, and I put pot pies into the oven. Moving hurts because my back aches, my legs ache, and my feet ache from all the bizarre exercise I&#039ve gotten today. Add to it cramps and a headache, and you&#039ve got someone who&#039s not moving all that fast.

Well, not moving all that fast until I bit into the hot pot pie, burned my tongue and bit the inside of my mouth in the process. I know have a very noticeable gash just on the inside of my cheek which bled for far too long and still aches despite the fact that it was a couple hours ago. My eyes are starting to itch because they do that when I get tired, and my hands are starting to cramp because they do that when I type too much. So, without a whole lot further ado, I think that this tired heap of bones and aching muscles is going to curl up in bed to read lexicology stuff. I wish I could say that maybe I&#039ll feel better tomorrow, but I won&#039t. Tomorrow&#039s my 12-hour day with hardly a break, so things are only going to get worse. Yay!

    Welcome back to grad school:
I like to call it educational S&M. Look at it this way, you'll lose weight in a hurry. I feel for you! At least you don't have 3 professors on top of the ones you have for class sending you to various libraries looking for random bits of information. If it doesn't kill you it will make you stronger 🙂

    I Say….:
Next time use a color photocopy machine instead of lugging those huge-ass books all over hell and back. :-p
