"Like a graceful vase, a cat, even when motionless, seems to flow." –George Will
You know, if I had had any idea what I was getting myself into when I downloaded that article about using comic books to teach French pronunciation, I probably would have deleted the file immediately. Well, no, I guess I can't
really go that far, but damn did I not have any idea what I was getting myself into when I agreed to do my term paper on Truett Book's article "French Pronunciation by Comic Book" in the French Review. Macheak is all gung-ho about getting an abstract for this in soon so we can take it to two (if not more!) conferences next year. He's got a grocery list of things for me to do to get this paper ready for both abstraction and presentation forms. It's just craziness. But at least he's pulling the by-line on this one so I'm not going it alone at all. He has presented at conferences before, but I think I'll avoid following his model ('cause in his words, he fell on his face at them) and try figuring out my own way to present this. Crazy.
At any rate, I'm gonna get the laundry together, talk the husband into fixing dinner and then work on grading the other stack of papers Macheak handed me this afternoon. Crazy.
