Now that I have the time…

Before I get creamed here at work (as in “flattened,” not in the pr0n sense, thank you, you perverts), I wanted to post really quick. They’re having a meeting for all the teachers of University 101, and since Heather and I are not coming back in the fall and therefore not teaching Univ 101, we’ll be the only advisors not attending. That leaves us to handle all OP and AOP students. Continue reading

Alouette, gentil alouette

Silly random songs messing with my head. It was “Wake up, pretty Susie” then it became “Alouette” and somewhere in there is a background track of something Beethoven. I’m currently watching a madman scream in black and white and Spanish. It’s the Spanish version of Dracula from 1931. Eating carrots, cross stitching, and rubbing my allergy-ridden eyes. Yup, that’s this Continue reading

Class review

Ahahahahahaha, I can’t stop laughing about today’s in-class study session. What makes it even funnier is that I was so busy this morning replying to e-mails that I forgot to print off a copy of the study guide to bring to class! Hahahahaha! So instead of going off the study guide and since no one else remembered to print it off or to bring it, I just ran through the syllabus and gave a brief Continue reading

I don’t want to write a study guide right now!

In lieu of writing up a study guide for my class right now, I think I’ll post one of those questionnaire sorts of things that was on Katie’s page. I figure that with students popping in and out of here like those little gophers you’re supposed to hit with a foam mallet, I won’t get very far on the study guide anyway. Heather went home because she’s not feeling well, and I say that a horrible sunburn Continue reading

Student presentations

Today, my class is giving their group presentations. It’s our last official class until the final next Wednesday at 8 (in the goddamned morning). So far, I know a few of the topics are as follows: shark attacks, a football player, and working at Walt Disney World. It should be an interesting morning. It will be more interesting if my stomach bottoms out like it’s threatening to. Stupid Continue reading

Pinched nipples?

I found this website through an ad banner on a webcomic’s site. The picture of a woman in a chainmail bikini was interesting, so I clicked on it and got this Twisted Links site. The fact that it has a section specifying various historic periods was interesting enough, but then there’s stuff like this little guy which just made me laugh out loud. Ah, such is the insanity of life. 🙂

Sandals!

I’m not the biggest fan of Spring, probably due to the SAD, but I do like the fact that I can break out all my sandals! Yesterday I wore my expensive green pair that I got last year around this time, and today I’ve got on my white and black pair. They rub on my big toe a bit until I get used to them, but who cares? They’re sandals! My feet are free and yet tastefully still shod so that no one Continue reading

Afternooning

Every other advisor on the floor left a little before one to go to some teleconferencing thing in the Union, so it’s just me and Heather all afternoon with all the students who need schedules. So far since 12:30, we haven’t seen anyone, but Heather’s sending an e-mail back to a student about advising as I type. It was actually all her typing that made me want to type, so I put the cross Continue reading

I’s excited!

I got part of Sarah’s graduation present! I’d go into detail about how I got it, but it would probably give it away. I also want to go into detail about how neat and beautiful it is, but more detail would also give it away. Ack! I’m no good with surprises. When I get something for someone, I always just want to give it to them immediately, but graduation’s not for another couple weeks, so I have Continue reading
