Friday!

Just one more day of repetitively helping students make their schedules and then it’s finally the weekend! Huzzah! The scheduling system is going to be down after today until next Thursday for routine maintenance. Students will still come in for scheduling help Monday through Wednesday, but it should be less insane. No lines of students backing up, no piles of folders to have to update, Continue reading

I have magic powers!

Okay, so it’s not so much magical as logical, but I do have at least one silly ability that I find most fascinating. I can put people to sleep! This revelation isn’t anything new to me. I discovered this a while back when my cousins from Vermont were down back in junior high school. We’d stay up incredibly late, and eventually everyone would be immensely exhausted but incapable of sleep. Continue reading

Sinuses

My sinuses have taken over much of my life right now. Thankfully, Aleve Cold & Sinus seems to do a pretty decent job, and in addition, I don’t have to take both the cold medicine and arthritis medicine because it’s all in the same pill. Here’s to hoping that this mucus (sp?) fest goes away soon. I’m getting sick of the headaches and constantly blowing my nose. The constant fatigue has Continue reading

A wonderful evening

Despite the headache gleaned from teaching two classes, advising more students than I’d like to count and general other running around here at work, when I got home yesterday I decided that the husband and I should do something. I had suggested to him the day prior that he might really enjoy shooting the Terre Haute House since it’s half destroyed and the rubble is fascinating to look Continue reading

Copperhead

So Ian and I were at the store Wednesday, and passing through the haircare/random toiletries aisle, Ian asked his usual question, “Should I dye my hair?” He does this from time to time, but most of the time we just agree “nah” and move on. This week, however, we went ahead and grabbed a box of dye and decided we’d dye our hair Thursday. Ian worked on my hair first Continue reading

Elliptical

The husband and I went and got a used elliptical machine last night. We had to take the middle seat out of the mom-mobile again, but honestly it’s easier to get groceries and the like in there wihtout that middle seat. Besides, when Simon’s up, it means he gets to stretch out those long legs of his. How’d he get to be so tall, anyway? I’m the tall one, hehe. 😉 Continue reading

I got tall!

I was talking to the little sis yesterday after the SFOL meeting in the library, and she informed me that the place where we’re getting the bride’s maids dresses called to say that they measured me at a half an inch shorter than Jessica so I’d need the “extra length” on the dress. That means I’m tall! That or their dresses are kinda short, hehe. It’s an extra ten bucks and they’ll probably still have to Continue reading

Cereal

You know, sometimes I miss getting up in the morning and sitting down and having a bowl of cereal. Just sitting at a table, pouring a bowl of something sugary and then pouring milk over it, kicking my feet and reading the back of the box while waiting until time to get on the bus. I guess I could still do the bowl of cereal part if I were to get up earlier and well, actually buy some cereal Continue reading

Whee.

So this weekend passed without much incident. I won’t lie and say I had a great time, but I’ll also try to keep from going too far in the other direction and say I had a terrible time either. Since certain events were good and others were stressful/irritating, the weekend taken as a whole rather leveled itself out into neutrality. It’s not quite indifference, but to avoid being too negative, I Continue reading

I found some treasure!

I had to brush my teeth over the cat this morning again. If she weren’t so tall or if she would just lie down, it wouldn’t be as much of a problem. I didn’t even mess with washing my face because regardless of how much water I drip on her, she won’t move. Crazy cat. But I did get some nice cuddle time with her after the alarm went off. I think she just wanted under the covers because I’m Continue reading
