I realized not too long ago that the students coming in to register for classes lately has felt an awful lot like sending them on quests to get signatures, forms, and information from all over campus. In response to this amusing image, I’ve decided to make an EQ adventure starring my monk Ruis as a problem-heavy student trying to register for classes. I’ll span this out for a while, maybe posting Continue reading

Tuesday?
It never ceases to amaze me how having a day off of work during a week can hinder my already tenuous grasp on the calendar and on time more generally. Of course, the added fact that I spent the better part of my weekend in a game which induces a freeze on the higher brain functions probably didn’t help. At any rate, I’m back at work, trying desperately to figure out what I should Continue reading
DnD musings
I really enjoy playing DnD. The strategies, the role-playing (when there is some), the character creation, the rainbow-colored dice–it’s all a lot of fun for me. I’ve been reading through articles on the Wizards of the Coast website, amusing myself at their own anecdotes while thinking about the crazy things that have occured in my own little gaming circle. Catch phrases pop up in those long Continue reading
Does it really matter?
So yesterday was insane as is fairly obvious from my post. What is probably less evident is that it was insane enough to already get my goat incredibly early in the morning. I got here before eight to finalize my syllabus and make photocopies before class. What ended up happening was a steady stream of students who still hadn’t registered or who had lost their PINs to register along with Continue reading

Semester beginning
Today was the first day of Late Registration for beginning students for the spring term. Today we had transfer students which poses its own brand of problems for us because we have to figure out what transferred and what didn’t in order to know what classes to sign them up for. Tomorrow will be far busier as we’re slated to have about five times as many students coming in. I have yet to Continue reading
Water
I wonder how much water is in an apple, a banana, a head of lettuce, two cups of tea and two cups of instant Lipton Cup-A-Soup. No wonder I have been in and out of the bathroom all morning and afternoon. Can we spell “hydrated”? Apparently I can ’cause I just typed it. 🙂 I don’t know if I should get anymore to drink, but I really want a Mello Yello. Dilemmas, dilemmas. Continue reading
Ooh exciting!
I recently joined the TeaChef part of Adagio’s site, and last month’s tea to use in cooking was spearmint. Because of the holidays, I really didn’t have a lot of time to think about recipes or cooking or anything like that, but I finally came up with a fairly simple idea: spearmint hot Continue reading
A longer week
I worked the 23rd of December until 4:30 and used the rest of the evening wrapping presents and getting ready for eventual traveling to LGT. The 24th was spent driving, dropping presents off at the Ringwalds and Doyles, hanging out with family and trying to figure out what was going on for the next couple days. The 25th finally arrived and so did present-opening, first at the Ringwalds Continue reading
Time for random
Acorns adorn webbing forlorn. Candy cane fiber? Spearmint, dear mint, how does your caffeine flow? The Private Spa Collection causes noses to run more than faucets. Embrace today. Back scratchers become cat scratchers where there is ribbon involved. Try to cook the tuna. Just try. One-armed coat. Cream soda float. Mr. Stinky Goat. Mint tea or urine? Pull away from the pan.
