Luckily, I have a big mouth

Most people either wouldn’t consider having a big mouth “lucky” unless they’ve also got a dirty mind. Regardless, what I mean by the title is that to a lot of people, it would seem that I’m biting off a lot more than I can chew when it comes to my book projects. So far, I have three completed books: Two Minds Are Better Than One (now in large print), Zombie Cookbook, and French Pejorative Suffixes: Meaning and Morphology. I still have a chapter and a half in the third novel of the Solennelle & O series, but well, I’m getting there. I’ve just been distracted by other things or haven’t have the inspiration to write the last two fight sequences. At any rate, in my state of perpetual distraction, I decided I would make a list of the other book projects/ideas that I have either started or want to start sometime soon. Here’s a run-down of all of them:

  1. Parler Games, a French pronunciation textbook (Teacher’s edition)
  2. Parler Games, a French pronunciation workbook (Student’s edition)
  3. A book of my collected poetry
  4. Two’s Company, Twenty-two’s an Army, book two of the Solennelle & O Series
  5. Second Time’s a Charm, book three of the Solennelle & O Series
  6. Two of Hearts Beats the King of Clubs, book four of the Solennelle & O Series
  7. Two Ways Out, book five of the Solennelle & O Series
  8. Two Plus Two Equals Five, book six of the Solennelle & O Series
  9. Once Smitten, Twice Shy, book seven of the Solennelle & O Series
  10. To Be Two or Not to Be, book eight of the Solennelle & O Series
  11. The Last Second, book nine of the Solennelle & O Series
  12. Solennelle & O Series collection of notes for books one through three
  13. Solennelle & O Series collection of notes for books four through six
  14. Solennelle & O Series collection of notes for books seven through nine
  15. Solennelle & O Series anthology of miscellaneous notes for all books
  16. A Minority of a Minority of a Minority, fiction romance novel

Of course, there are two other books that might come into fruition should I write more short linguistic essays or come up with more crochet patterns. For those, I’d need a lot more than the few I have, but over time, I might accumulate enough for one or both to write that many more books. There are also two . . . no, three other fiction ideas that I have jotted down, but since I haven’t actually fleshed them out very much, there’re really only about six pages of notes total between them. Those may never get past the short story phase, but technically, they are still book ideas.

Seems like a lot of books, but honestly, there are a lot of authors at the library who seem to crank out a whole lot of books. Though I suspect that some of them are pretty crappy. At least, I would find them to be pretty crappy either due to subject matter or level of writing skill. Regardless, I just thought it was interesting to see an actual list of the books I’ve got in the works to realize just how crazy it is. There’s that and the sheer randomness of the books themselves. I mean, a cookbook, textbook/workbook, and fantasy novels? Most of the authors at the library who have a shit-ton of books only write one type of book and that’s generally fiction only. Madness. At any rate, I’ve got heartburn, a scratchy/coughy throat, and still have laundry to finish, so I’m gonna wander off now.
