Published! (again)

Woohoo! After much fighting with the word processor and the cover creator on Lulu’s page, I finally have uploaded the paperback version of my first fiction novel, Two Minds Are Better Than One. I think I’m going to go back and make a hardback version available too, which means more fighting with their cover creator and all that, but it’s worth it. So exciting! Now I just need to order a copy, and I’ll finally have a bound version of the book that has taken me the past seven years to write, type, and edit. March 31 is actually the seven-year anniversary of when I finally picked up the pen. The book has gone from a lot of inky scribblings in a couple notebooks I bought in a tabac in France to an actual print book. Wooooohooooo!

If you want to take a look at it, here is a link to my storefront on Lulu where you can also look at my Master’s thesis if you’re bored (and masochistic). If you’re interested in actually reading my crazy fiction in its entirety (well, the first volume of it, at any rate), then here’s a button you can click to go get a copy. Whee! So exciting!

    Royalties:

So how much do you get for each book sold? Are you going to be able to quit your day job?

    Love, Dad

    Thanks :D:

And as for royalties, I really don't get much. The price is made up of three parts: how much it costs to print the book, a Lulu commission, and then the royalty price I set for myself. I could add a crazy number to the print cost to make more, but then the book would cost way more than I think is reasonable. For these books, I put only a couple dollars on top of the print price, so I won't be making anything near what it'd take to quit my day job. Besides, I won't make anything until I sell a certain number, enough for them to think it's worth cutting me a check.
