Today is also the Republic of Ireland’s national holiday. 🙂 I got a bunch of fun St. Patrick’s Day stuff from Aunt Pamela and wore some of it to work today. I had made a bunch of shamrock and four-leaf-clover pins for my co-workers so that no one had to go without green as well. I think I saw more green in the library today both on patrons and staff than ever before. Hooray! My favorite color is green, so it’s easy to see why I like today’s celebration of all things Irish. There’s that and the little matter of seeing my name everywhere: Erin go braugh!

On a sad note, my pet snail Buì died this past weekend. For those of you who have forgotten, Buì is Irish for yellow. He hadn’t been looking very good for the past couple weeks, and it was inevitable that he die sometime soon. I think a lot of it has to do with the soft water in the area. It just wasn’t good for the little guy’s shell. I don’t think that I’ll get another snail anytime soon because of the water quality, but I still have Jaune and Gelb, my two Glo-fish. They freaked out for a good half hour after I took Buì out. Gelb hovered in the corner closest to my computer and made faces at me for nearly twenty minutes. They seem to be pretty much back to normal now though. Gelb hides from Jaune, and Jaune has his run of the tank. I wonder what the average life span of a Glo-fish is. I might have to look that up.

As seen in my previous post, I’ve edited the printed copy of my novel. Since then, I’ve also put all the corrections from the paper copy into the computer. Now I’m going back through on the computer file re-reading the entire damn thing yet again to check for any other corrections that I might have missed in the other twenty or thirty times that I’ve been over the document. The cover is already completed (thanks to the husband’s love of Photoshop), so once I get the document edited once again, it’ll be ready to put up on Lulu. How exciting! I mean, it’s not like I’m not already published, but this will be the first fiction book that I will have published. I’ll get back to non-fiction once this is done.

So there’s my beginning-of-the-week update. I’m going to get back to my novel. I’m at least a third done with this last editing attempt. Maybe I’ll have it done by tomorrow. Exciting!
