Happy birthday, Tommy!

Today is Tommy’s 27th birthday! Woohoo! We texted back and forth for a while after I wished him a happy birthday, and he seemed to have a good day. He did some walking and running and ate some strawberry cake. Sounds like a good day to me, minus the running. 😉 My poor, arthritic knees couldn’t handle that! I have been trying to get on the elliptical for a while on the days when I don’t work, but lately, I’ve been working all the time filling in for people, so I haven’t been very consistent with the thing. At any rate, I’m glad that Tommy had a nice birthday. 😀

I’ve mentioned that at the library, I work one split weekend every four weeks. This week was my weekend, so today I was there from 8:45 to 5. Work was actually pretty great because it was nice and slow so I got a lot of shelf reading done. (Shelf reading, by the way, for those non-librarians out there, is going book by book, shelf by shelf checking call numbers to make sure that everything is in order as well as straightening the shelves so they’re not cockeyed or falling over.) The only problem with today was that a couple days ago, I was walking barefoot in the yard and stepped on a thorn that apparently is still partially in my calloused foot. Walking around on it all day was less than pleasant, so I was doubly happy to shelf read and remain stationary for short periods of time.

And speaking of books, I’m still not done typing up Book One, but I figure I’ll continue to work on it tonight until my brain gives out. Upon getting home, I spent some time winding down by crocheting and watching some TV shows on the computer. Now I’m subjecting Simon to Reservoir Dogs so he can understand where Ian and my song “Hooked on a Feeling” came from. Besides, it’s a good movie. So now it’s back to the last two chapters. I think it’s tea time. 🙂
