Two chapters away!

Sweet! I’m two chapters away from having all of Book One typed up! I just finished chapter 21, and there are only chapters 22 and 23 to type up yet. That’s pretty exciting. 🙂 There will still be a couple weeks of going back through all my notes to make sure everything’s squared away with matters of consistency, rewritten scenes, and name changes then all the editing itself. So far, I’m up to page 254 in the book, and with two more chapters to go, I’ll likely hit 275 pages by the end. I’m pretty excited to be so close, excited enough that I haven’t been playing video games or reading webpages or even crocheting as much as usual. Too bad I work from opening to close tomorrow because my typing will have to wait. I don’t know that I’ll have the energy to finish it off tomorrow night, but I’ll probably try (or take a nap and then try).

As for the Zombie Cookbook, I’ve got about ten recipes left to type up yet and then there’s the matter of drawing my little pictures to decorate it. Maybe if I need a break from the novel, I’ll get back to typing up recipes. I think I have all that I want and won’t look up anymore. That’ll be another finished book sooner than I would have expected.

I’ve still got the French pronunciation workbook Parler Games in the work, and I’m planning on trying to complete a few more chapters of it this spring, maybe working on more images this summer. It’s an incredibly work intensive book, so if it’s not completed for another couple years, I won’t be surprised. There is, of course, also the fact that it’s technically two books–a teacher’s manual and a student’s workbook–making it twice as difficult to complete. Still in the works though.

Ian and I were talking the other day about the novels (back to these again), and I was thinking that once I get Book One typed up, I’d go back to finishing Book Three. I didn’t complete it during NaNoWriMo, but it’s close, probably about ten or twelve chapters away from completion. I want to get back to Book Two after that. It’s in a notebook, so there’ll be the matter of typing up the four or so chapters I have thus far and then completing it. It involves medieval warfare, so it’s going to be a slower write than Book One and probably longer than Book Three despite Book Three’s messy fight scenes that I still need to work out. I have great help with medieval warfare though because I’ve got history geek friends who can help out. I would love to have Books One, Two, and Three done by the end of the summer so that I’m ready to start Book Four come November. How cool would it be to get Books One through Four done by the end of the year? It won’t happen, but it’s still a neat thought.

At any rate, I’m gonna wander off now. It’s nearing midnight and I’ve got to get up early tomorrow. I’ll post (randomly) about my writing as it progresses. Woohoo for writing!

    Yeah, I think so:

There's a self-publishing site on-line where I can publish my books, and that's probably what I'm going to do. My thesis is already up there so I could get a paperback copy of it. I don't expect my fiction to sell, but I really want a bound copy and lulu.com can do that for me. 🙂 I guess if family wants copies, they can get them there too once they're up. 😉
