It's not so much an injury as in blood and bruises, but it's still freaky looking. You know how your skin will make an indentation and turn purplish red if you have a watch band or something on that's too tight for too long? It's like that except it's caused mostly by friction. This summer when I was doing tons of crocheting, even a day later there was a little line running across my finger. Working with thread just makes it darker apparently.
