40k

40,000 words! Woohoo! If I were doing the minimum number of words necessary to reach 50k by the 30th, then the 40k mark would be on day 24. Needless to say, I’m pretty far ahead. 😉 Now if I could just get my characters to behave. They keep sitting around having random conversations or pulling pranks on each other out of the blue. They’ve come up with some choice nicknames for each other lately, and I didn’t know they were so prone to picking on each other. Now they’re hanging out in General Lushbaugh’s tower and the madness is just continuing to pile up (much like the weapons on the General’s table at the moment). It’s fascinating to see where these guys are taking me. It’s almost as though I’m not controlling them but am being controlled by them. It’s an odd feeling. I wonder where they’ll take me next. It better be back to the castle because that’s where I mean for them to go, but that may not happen yet. We’ll see. I just wanted to post about how excited I am to have broken 40,000 words. 🙂

    Yup, General Lushbaugh:

A couple posts down (can't remember the name, would have to look it up) I mentioned that I had come up with a few new names for the characters in my third novel. I knew I wanted the General's first name to be Justus, but couldn't think of a good last name. Then when at the library in the history section it hit me: Lushbaugh! It was perfect, though he doesn't actually resemble you very much, to be honest. Just a great name. 🙂
