Today has so far been a day of cleaning. I’ve cleaned the aquarium and picked up a bunch of stuff around the living room. I’ve been doing laundry (which reminds me, I need to put the whites away, get the colors in the dryer and start the blacks) and straightening the bedroom. And we got a vacuum! We’ve had a handheld vacuum for several years now which is great on the furniture and for spot cleaning, especially since we’ve lived mostly in places with hardwood floors only for the past several years. Now, however, we have two rooms with carpet and the bug to vacuum has been itching me for a while. So since we have a little extra money due to tax refunds, we figured we could go ahead and get a vacuum while getting the oil changed in the van. We picked up this model: Dirt Devil Purpose for Pets. It has a brush specifically made for cleaning up hair on furniture and other pet-busy places. It does say specifically on the brush, incidentally, not to use it directly on the pet. 😉 So now I’m going to try and pick up the rest of the living room so I can vacuum the whole room, then I’m going to vacuum the bedroom once the husband is not snoring on the bed. I think I’m going to try and straighten up the bookshelves some then potentially move some stuff to the cellar. I also want to move some shelves around so I can get at the elliptical. So it’s time to turn my music back on and get back to random spring cleaning. It’s going to be more fun now that I have a vacuum to make noise with. 🙂
