This state is more than a little insane when it comes to the weather. Not only do local areas have crazy weather events and trends, but the state as a whole has a rather bizarre range of weather at bizarre times. Yesterday just reaffirmed to me that this state has some weather issues that not even a shrink could untangle.
The day here in Jasper started out cloudy and kind of cool. Then in the early afternoon, I got a phone call from the husband asking me to look out the window. It was snowing. Flurrying lightly, really, but seeing as how warm it has been and how incredibly rainy as well, snow was a change of pace. The sky spit snow for about fifteen minutes then the sun came out. I went outside to put some stuff in the cellar, and it was warm enough I didn’t need to put a jacket on over my T-shirt. The husband came home not long after and we started for Bramble to hang out with the parents for a while. On our approach, the sky became really dark with heavy, thick clouds and it started raining hard about a mile out from their house. At their house, however, it was snowing blizzard-like with fat, heavy flakes. That lasted for a little while, then not long after that, the sun came out and the temperature dropped. It was clear the rest of the night.
There’s something terribly wrong with the weather in this state. And all I want to do is bring the grill out and grill, but the way the weather’s going, it might be halfway through June before that happens. Crazy Indiana!
Only:
This is the only state I've ever been in where you can have a bright sunny sky and snow at the same time.
