Kitty had an eventful day today. I went grocery shopping this afternoon. Normally I go with the husband because we alternate who comes in and out of the door so as to prevent Kitty from making an escape. Well, with him at work and me doing all the unloading, I figured she might make a dash for escape. She did. Both did she make a dash for escape as well as actually escape. She didn’t even hesitate to dash out once the door was opened on my second trip. I dropped the stuff I was carrying on the kitchen floor and turned around to pick her up (she hadn’t gotten far because her natural cat curiosity made her stop to sniff the porch). I dumped her in the bathroom and shut the door to keep her from running out again. Crazy cat. The weather is getting to her.
So when the husband came home, we put Kitty’s color back on her because she hasn’t worn it since she was having fur problems back around the end of last year. Then we took our little girl out for a walk. I opened the door and let her walk out on her own, and she walked around the porch, sidewalk, and around part of the front and side yard a little bit. She kept trying to get into the cellar but finally gave up when she realized her dainty little paws were getting wet. It was so cute to see how she constantly tried to avoid snow but eventually ended up stepping on it anyway to get at the grass she wanted to chew on. The three of us were out there for a while enjoying the brisk air and bright sun. When Kitty started around the side yard and started getting into muddier areas, Ian scooped her up and we came back inside. She begged to go back out for a while after that, but now she’s happy and warm inside one of her tents. Maybe we’ll make it a monthly event to just get the three of us out of the house and in the sun for a while. I know Kitty would appreciate it. If we think about it, we’ll have to put some pictures up. She sure is a cutie. 🙂
