Hooray! Let’s celebrate the fact that Ian’s still alive after 29 years! (Hell, I’m impressed he’s still alive after nearly eleven years with me, but that’s not the point.) So Happy Birthday, Baby Doll! You’re snoring right now in the other room, but that’s OK ’cause you’re cute. To celebrate Ian’s birthday, we’re going to have cake and ice cream and sleep off and on all day. Uh, well, OK, the cake is a lie, the only ice cream we have is sherbert which Ian won’t eat, but the sleeping off and on all day is still in the plan. Of course, Ian will have an easier time of that than I will. Being sick generally precludes being able to sleep for more than a half hour to two hours at a time even with tons of medicines filling my system. Ian? Well, sometimes I think he’s a narcoleptic. A cute narcoleptic. A cute birthday boy narcoleptic. At any rate, everyone wish the birthday boy something crazy, and I’m gonna go cough some more. 🙂

Well, the title was a reference to a song that plays during the credits to a video game and the line "The cake is a lie!" is also from the same game. I figured anyone who'd played it would have gotten the references, but maybe they were too vague or I needed more of them.
