Last night, the husband and I had a fun evening with Damien at Applebee’s then at his place playing Rock Band (or whatever it’s called). Upon getting home, I went to bed shortly and actually managed to sleep solidly through most of the night, a great feat for an insomniac for me. I guess I should have been suspicious of my lengthy sleep when I woke up, however, because I generally only sleep that soundly when I’m sick. Sure enough, within an hour of being conscious, I developed a bad headache, felt achy all over, and realized I had a fever. Normally I can’t tell when I have a fever unless my eyes sting a lot because I bemoan being so cold all the time that being warm for a change is generally pleasant. But when the toilet seat is absolutely freezing despite the fact that it’s beside the heating vent, I think it’s a tip-off that my own temperature is off.
So, feverish, headachy, dizzy and coughing an unfortunate amount (the cough from a couple weeks ago had gone, replaced by nasal runnage, only to be replace by coughing once more starting a few days ago), I tried lying down for a while with an ice pack on my head. That didn’t last long thanks to an overly-attentive Kitty. Robutussin and Tylenol have dampened the misery, but I’m still miserable. All the coughing has maintained the headache, the fever is lower but still there, and I ache in joints all over in addition to sporadically having to blow my nose. Add to that accidentally biting my lip so hard it bled like mad and you’ve got a pretty sucky Saturday. As soon as my Sherlock Holmes movie ends in ten minutes, I am going to bed. I’ve already done a lot of cataloguing today–I’ve finished all the DVDs except the 50-movie packs–so at least I’ve got something to show for a miserable day. That an a pile of used tissues.
Get well soon!!:
Hope you are felling better. Took Mom about 4 days to feel better. (from my comment to Katie:I think you should try the pnuemonuea vaccine. I had one a couple of years ago (five year vaccine) and haven't had as many illnesses since (knocks on head). (ignore the misspellings, I know they are there but don't feel like looking them up, you can tell what I mean).)
Love, Dad
Sick:
I've just recently gotten better from a nasty sinus/bronchial infection. Are you guys planning on coming up this month?
That sucks…:
… anyways get well soon!
