I’ve noticed that the past several posts have all had titles beginning with the letter S. So, this post will be about a bunch of other things that begin with the letter S. Is there a good reason for this? No. Is there ever really a good reason for most of my posts? Again, no. Am I concerned about this? No, no, no, not at all. So at any rate, here are some things going on in my life that begin with the letter S.
Snow: This morning’s drive was pretty boring since most of the snow that fell yesterday was early enough that the road crews had all but cleared most of it off. That is until Hayesville. Upon reaching Hayesville, it started snowing. Upon crossing the bridge, it started snowing so hard that I could barely see thirty feet in front of the Mom-mobile. Needless to say, I slowed down a lot since I could neither see the white lines nor the yellow lines let alone the road ahead of me. Add to that the fact that it was early in the morning and everyone’s headlights were making the snow that much more obnoxious to try and see through. About half a mile out of Hayesville, the snow stopped completely. The weather sure has been strainge.
Star Trek: I’ve been cataloguing all of our DVDs using the Home on-line library program Ian wrote for me a while back. I’m up to the first Star Trek movie which, when catalogued, will be DVD 196. I’ve got 63 more DVDs and box sets to catalogue before going through the three 50-movie pack box sets. Then I’ll catalogue the DS games, PS2 games, GBA games, VHS tapes, CDs, and eventually all of our books. I’m waiting on a book about the Library of Congress Classification before getting to the books since they’ll be the most complicated to catalogue. Fun!
Sleep: The chronic insomniac, I haven’t been getting a lot of sleep lately. Go figure. There for a while, I was blaming it on the horrible sickness that lingered for so long, but now it’s just back to regular old insomnia. A lot of people don’t know that insomnia doesn’t mean just not being able to sleep at all. Insomnia includes difficulty in falling asleep, difficulty in staying asleep, and often waking up incredibly early and not being able to go back to sleep. Yeah, that’s me all over. Then there are just the nights where I can’t sleep. Those were more two weeks ago, and now I’m back to the short bursts of sleep rather than a full night’s sleep. I often wonder what it’s like to be able to fall asleep quickly or to stay asleep instead of waking up three or five times at random. It must be weird to get eight hours of sleep a night without being on NyQuil or alcohol. If I get six hours of sleep, it’s amazing, even moreso if I wake up only once during that time. Yeah, I guess I could have started this section with “sleep disorder” instead.
Saber: For those of you who’ll get it, you get it; for those of you who don’t get it, I don’t feel like explaining. You’ll live.
Soaked: As I was typing the last point, Kitty knocked over a cup of water thus soaking a blanket, part of the couch, my mouse, part ot my leg, and my satchel. Whee. On that note, I’m going to wander off.
