Happy Birthday, Sarah!

Today is Sarah’s 23rd birthday! In order to celebrate her birthday, I scanned in a whole bunch of pictures of her that I found here at the apartment. She had said something while we were driving around getting ready for her wedding about not having many pictures of herself when she was younger, so I decided that I’d go find a bunch of pictures for her! Eventually, once I get ahold of either a padded envelope or an album or something, I’ll send a bunch of the originals on to her so she can have them for her own scrapbooks. Happy birthday, little sis! Enjoy these pictures for the time being:

Sarah as a baby

Now, I think the baby in this picture is Sarah. After all, it’s clearly Mom and Dad’s house not long after we moved in (Mom’s not pregnant and still has brown hair), but I think someone might have said this is actually our cousin Alex. But until I get confirmation one way or the other as to the identity of this baby, I’m gonna say it’s Sarah. After all, it’s a bald baby. 😉

Sarah in front of a flowering tree       Sarah with Simon

Here’s Sarah in 1990, jumping ahead quite a few years. She’s in the parents’ front yard in the left picture and with Simon on the floor of the living room in the second. These would put her at six (first picture) and seven (second picture).

Sarah pretending to play with flowers       Sarah looking stoned with Eric       Sarah's fifth grade photo

Here’s Sarah circa 1993-5. I place these photos at 1994, really, but there are no dates on them, so it’s a little hard to tell. The first might be 1993, and I’m pretty sure the second is 1994 because I was in junior high, and the last is her fifth grade photo, so she’d know better than me what year that was. So I’m sticking with 1993-5. And no, in the middle picture she’s not stoned; she’s just heavily under the influence of playing too many crazy games with our Ringwald cousins. 😉

Sarah and Beth       Sarah in her old bedroom

Here’s Sarah in 1997. The first pic of her is with our cousin Beth in front of Grandma Nolan and Aunt Pamela’s old house. This is the day we were helping Aunt Pamela move out. At least I think that it was 1997. Come to think of it, it was probably 1996. Hmm, oh well. I suck at time, after all. The second is Sarah in what was her old bedroom upstairs at the parents’ house which used to be Katie and my old bedroom as well once. Sarah in glasses! This is before she got contacts but after her eyesight started to suck.

Sarah making a face

I don’t know what year this one is, but Sarah was making a funny face and I took a picture. Hehe.

Sarah and Beth and the X-files

Here are Sarah and Beth in 1999 doing what they did most often when they got together: watching the X-files. I know that’s what they were doing because I can tell by the VHS box in Sarah’s hand. Sarah, being OCD like the rest of the family, would tape index cards to the X-files boxes and list all the episodes there so we could find our favorites faster. Me, Sarah, and Beth used to get a lot of candy and stay up all night watching the X-files, getting really, really hyper. Good times, good times.

Sarah and Jessica

And then we jump ahead to 2005 with Sarah and Jessica in Ian and my old place on Oak Street. We were celebrating Jessica’s birthday, and here the two-halves-of-one-brain are, wearing icing on their teeth. I thought it made sense to end on a picture of a birthday party, even if it was Jessica’s and not Sarah’s. So happy birthday, Sarah! I hope you and Steve get to do something nice today. 🙂

    Happy Birthday Sarah!

Please tell me you don't have any pictures of me in my dorky-glasses/permed-hair/pimple-face adolescent stage!

  2. Sarah

    Hmmm…:

Maybe telling you I would like pictures of myself was a bad idea since these are fairly embarrassing and are now easily (somewhat) found in cyberspace!! Is it just me or do I look like Eric in half of them?! And I think that Eric and I were making shadow puppets based on Eric's hand, not playing a game. Though I am sure we had been playing crazy games anyway. Thanks for posting them, and thanks to you and Katie for the birthday wishes! 🙂
