Latest addition to the family

Well, I won&#039t bore you all with the massive amounts of problems the husband and I have been having with our newly built glowing machines. I figure that he&#039ll probably post a much better rant than I because he actually knows what all those computer words he uses mean. I just guess at it most of the time. So he&#039ll clue you in on the PC hysteria, and I&#039ll just fill you all in on the latest addition to the family: Buster.

&#034Buster

Yes, he&#039s a laptop. Ian suggested we call him &#034Lappy,&#034 but since he&#039s about a hundred times more powerful than Strongbad&#039s fifty-pound beige paperweight (much like Bob, actually), I thought not. Besides, I have this thing for computer names starting with &#034B.&#034 Bob, Brigid, Brannagh, and now Buster. If I could remember where I stuck those damn papers, I&#039d list off what all he&#039s got in him. Based on the stickers before me, he&#039s got:

  1. nVidia GeForce4 440 video card with 64 meg of its own ram
  2. AMD Athalon 64-bit processor (yes, 64-bit, completely unlike the 8-bit in Bob)
  3. um, Windows XP
  4. 24x DVD-rom/CD-RW combo drive
  5. 512 meg ram
  6. 60 gig hard drive
  7. 54g 802.11b/g WLAN (uh, something to connect to the net wirelessly)
  8. and a 15.4&#034 WXGA high-definition widescreen display.

That pretty much ends whatever I know about this thing other than it&#039s an HP Pavilion zv5410us notebook PC. I got 10% off the regular price because it had been opened and returned by some moron who didn&#039t realize what a sweet machine this is. The funny part is that they left pics on the computer, hehe. Wanna see? Here are their goofy ass pics. Poor Amy (and I know her last name too). She left her name all over the computer as well, heh. I&#039ll get that all deleted soon enough.

So that&#039s Buster. I&#039m on him currently because I&#039m still not sure Brannagh will refrain from resetting, and since I have a paper due tomorrow, I can&#039t chance it. Besides, this means I get to hang out in the living room with Kitty (Who, by the way, left me with a three-inch gash on my shoulder because she &#034slipped&#034 off the back of the couch. Further evidence that she wants me dead.) and near the kitchen where the caffeine boils. Yay! Oh well, that&#039s a long enough break from the paper. Time for more tea and Lucky Charms.

    Sweet!:
Although I swear everyone has a laptop but me now. lol But I'm happy with my really cool monitor. Enjoy your new toy, I mean tool!

    Same:
I'm with you Katie, I still don't have a laptop either. The Wife and I just don't see the purpose to have a laptop unless traveling, which only occurs a few times a year. And I'm happy with my really cool (one version before yours) monitor. :p
