Cthulu

Cthulu is now officially a member of my office. The husband and I brought him in yesterday afternoon, and he&#039s happily residing in the one-gallon tank in between my expensive monitor and my expensive textbooks. He spent the better part of yesterday exploring his new home. This one has an air pump which burbles air out of a pipe in one corner of the tank. Cthulu has figured out that he can climb on top of this thing (made more easy when I lift the lid up so he can fit on it better), fill his shell up with air, then float to the bottom of the tank. I watched him do this about seven times yesterday before he resorted to crawling around the waterline a dozen times in circles. My officemate likes him, and I made a little diamond-shaped yellow sign for our door with a drawing of a snail which reads &#034Slow Snail X-ing&#034 just for kicks. Most people will probably assume that Heather and I mean ourselves, which is fine by me. I&#039m glad to have Cthulu in here though because he&#039s quite relaxing due to his slow movement and his soothing blue-green colors. I think that I&#039m going to get two guppies for the tank because people keep telling me that I need fish for some odd reason. I&#039d probably get male guppies because they&#039re smaller, and I would name them &#034Hairy&#034 and &#034Furry.&#034 There are some goofy linguistic/pragmatic reasons for that, but I won&#039t get into those. I&#039ve had enough crazy pragmatics this afternoon. At any rate, maybe someday I&#039ll get the camera in here to take a few pics of the office and Cthulu to put on the page. Then again, maybe I&#039ll also start getting my reading and homework done on time for a change. Oh well. C&#039est la fucking vie, hehe.

speaking of new arrivals, things are happening in the aquarium at home. Seems I have two of Cthulu's fellow gastropods that I've finally seen. man can they book around the tank too.
