Aquarium fighting?

I dream a lot and frequently, unfortunately. I dream about random insane phobia-inducing psychosis, also unfortunately. I tend to dream for hours on end making me as tired when I wake up as when I went to bed, likewise unfortunately. Fortunatly, I don&#039t tend to remember absolutely everything I dream about. Last night was such a night, and boy was it bizarre!

Kay, so imagine that about an hour of dreaming has gone on up to this point. Now my dream shifts from whatever insanity it had been to me standing in front of the fish tank in our bedroom. The tank wasn&#039t on the dresser but was on a shelf level with my head, and it was much larger than the two gallons we have now. Squeak and Cthulu were both in the tank which didn&#039t strike me as odd because they had shared the tank together for some time anyway. I noticed that Cthulu looked like he had gotten bigger, and I was watching him crawl up the right side of the glass as I pondered this. Before going to bed last night, I had been flipping through my old pics on my computer and had seen a picture of Cthulu when I first got him. Mind you, he has gotten a lot bigger, maybe even doubled in size, but in my dream now he was about four times the size he was when I got him.

My attention, however, got diverted by Squeak who was swimming on the left side of the tank somewhat erratically. He flared out a few times in my direction, his eyes getting somewhat big like cartoons do, and he began swimming very quickly all over the left side of the tank. I wasn&#039t sure what was wrong with him, thinking maybe I&#039d spooked him or he was sick. In the corner of my eye, I saw Cthulu spreading his many tentacle like he does when he&#039s lost or looking for food or just bored. (I don&#039t honestly know half the time what that snail&#039s doing anyway.) I wasn&#039t paying much attention to the snail though because the Betta was thrashing around more violently now. He swam up to the top of the tank and jumped out, so I caught him and put him back, putting the lid on the tank down. He jumped out of the hole in the lid which is used for feeding, so I grabbed him as he started floating away (It was odd that when he jumped out, he flew rather than fell.) and put him back, closing the feeding lid. He made a few more desperate loops around the tank before suddenly stopping. His fins curled in on themselves and wrapped around him like a drying leaf. Then I realized he was dead, and I was very upset by this. Somehow in my dream, I decided it was old age rather than anything else. I was just looking to the right of the tank to pick up the net so I could fish him out (haha, punny), when I noticed that the gigantische Schnecke (gigantic snail) had not only all of his tentacles out, but huge crawldad claws! Squeak&#039s corpse was floating nearer to Cthulu, and I was afraid that Cthulu would start ripping the fish to shreds before I could get the body out of the tank. Gross!! Where the hell did Cthulu get claws anyway?!

The dream wandered on from there, but I either don&#039t remember it or chose to forget it. I would just like to point out that I, Erin Doyle, of insane mind and gimpy body, am quite sure that there&#039s something wrong with my brain and that it would probably best be solved by stabbing at it with a really long Q-tip. I pity the three or four of you who actually come to this site for having to put up with the spewings of my unconscious/conscious mind. You poor people.
