Stammtisch

The title is &#034conversation table&#034 in German which is where I was tonight. There&#039s a German restaurant here in North Terre Haute which is really pretty good, so a bunch of us Germanies (Aw, doesn&#039t have the same ring as &#034Frenchies!&#034) got together there, and they talked in German while I stayed predominately lost. It was fun to sit there and listen to everyone talking in German because I think that it&#039s very pretty. I&#039m just not used to being quiet, that&#039s all. <Smirk> We talked about family and food and random stuff like that for the most part. I wasn&#039t very adventursome with the food, so I got chicken as the main dish and spätzle for my side dish. Mmmm, good spätzle. It was a lot closer to meine Oma&#039s (my grandma&#039s) than the spätzle I make. The Apfelstrudle (dunno &#039bout the spelling on that one) was really good for dessert. All in all, it was a really fun evening.

Now I have to write a two-page paper on Baden-Baden (Yeah, two pages! That&#039s nothing!) and practice my presentation for German class. I also have to write a one-page paper about tonight&#039s dinner so it counts for culture points in class, and I have two chapters of French to read for the class I&#039m teaching tomorrow. Busy, busy evening! Here&#039s to hoping I don&#039t spend the entire night screwing up which language I&#039m writing in: German, French, or English!

    hehe:
It would be funny if you did your German homework in French and your French homework in English and your posts in French (oh you've done that one before…)
